9mm Bolt Action Rifle

I do not hunt and only plink with a rifle. So it is my goal to limit my shooting to only one caliber - 9mm
If Biden/Harris come after my AR9, what are my options ..... pump/lever/bolt action rifles in 9mm are limited. But I did find this 9mm bolt action rifle. Anyone know anything about it?

Well there's always the option to tell them to go to hell and come and take it.

Well you could always get a Rock Island 22TCM rifle and Re-barrel it to 9mm. The bonus is in a free state you could get 18 round mags for it.

Any savage is good donor to make with a 223 bolt head and barrel swap that can be stubbed for quick change
between 223 and 9mm.
The stubbed system could be designed for quick change and then use an old mag and mag holder to make a
magazine conversion with your favorite pistol mag.
for shooting on the cheap cheap 22 cal bullets in 1K value packs. and a 5.7 fn can be a great substitute but it
requires custom bolt that is only available at ptg.
Or use a fireballs or 22 johnson that are more forgiving and easier even use a tad more fuel.

Can someone explain the advantages of a 9x19 bolt-action rifle? I guess there rifle/pistol ammo portability.

I don’t really enjoy shooting my PC9 beyond 25 yards. For simple plinking, even a 22LR has a lot going for it.

I thought the prevailing wisdom was 223.

I like to play Fallout. My wife chastises me for carrying half-a-dozen rifles. I explain that I never know what kind of ammo I will be able to scrounge. I guess 9x19 will be pretty easy to find in private stockpiles.

It really bothered me in “The Walking Dead” when the ammo started to run dry. It was just a plot device. There must be many billions of rounds of ammo in private stockpiles in the United States.

I don’t really enjoy shooting my PC9 beyond 25 yards. For simple plinking, even a 22LR has a lot going for it.

It is not the ideal round for any rifle and most loads slow down after 12 or 14 inches of bore (like 22lr) so one might get slower speeds from a rifle than from a 12" pistol.
But the convenience is there for some.
Some benefits might be:
-it is a service round and widely polpular all over.
-some loads carry a punch and one has all sort of bullets for it including tipped nose lile a ftx.
-can be reloaded with a huge range of poeders and bullets including cast and even black powder (not ideal but doable).
-in times of scarcity one can reload cheaper than buying 22LR and 22lr cannot be reloaded.
-same components can be shared with other popular calibers... 38spc, 357mag, 356 max, 35 rem and some bullets can be used also with 358 winchester and 35 whelen powerhouses giving thr opportunity to consolidate.
It is a good candidate for a stubbed /quick swap barrel as it shares a popular bolt face compatible with other very popular calibers including other service round that is the 5.56 but also a fireball, whisper, 6 and 7mm tcu and so on.
-also a popular cartridge for inserts ans survival option.
The 35 bore also has plastic sabots for 22 caliber so it can be used for high velocity rounds with varmint bullets.
Many advantages, obviously given that it is a compact pistol round in a rifle like several others. ...but not a horrible choice I would say.

I guess,if you’re anticipating having to scrounge for reloading supplies. A bolt-action rifle makes good sense. You can be a little sloppier with your reloading and still have reliable function. The black-powder angle is intriguing, since you can theoretically make it yourself. Primer availability makes me a little concerned. Maybe an old-school flint-lock would be an option.

I’ve got 2,500 number 11 percussion caps. I figure I’ll need about 25 pounds of black powder and never have to worry about hunting ammo.
