I lived in a co-op in queens for almost 5 years. It was a nice place to live, made some really great neighbors/friends. But the best decision was selling that place getting out of there. While i didn’t have that issue with firearms, I had plenty of other issues with the “board” which was really this one last who ran the management office. She wasn’t even on the board. It was a fcuking joke.

I was trying to explain to him that this "homeowner's association" has no legal authority whatsoever and whatever say is merely their recommendation on things and does not need to be followed. I have never lived in a such a setup so I was hoping someone who does could chime in.

You are missing the point. It is unethical, evil, to deny a law abidding citizen their arms. Its wrong for NYS to do it, its wrong for this HOA to try it. Emphasis on try.

I don't really know if he signed any sort of agreement, or whether doing so could actually allow him to give up his 2A rights? Could they also pencil in there if they wanted that you are no longer allowed to vote and that needs to followed to? Or perhaps they can say too that slavery is to be reinstated in that complex as well and residents must abide by the five pillars of Islam. See where I am going. There is no way that something like this can be legally permissable.
