Bergara B14 bolt action rifle. Any new owners, opinions?

Anyone has one of these rifles?

I have been doing some online research and they look great.

Initially the rifle seems very nice for the price point that is around $640-700 at the store for the hunter model and when looking closely at
what you get it is becoming more obvious this is a must buy. I would not be surprised this beats the Remington line in every aspect
and it could be the modern rifle Remington never built for the American hunter. It looks like this one is made in Spain but they also have
a facility in Georgia in the USA.

I have been very happy with my Sarrasqueta and Lanber shotguns made in Spain so I know they make good firearms and not necessarily
all super expensive.

Anyone has one? Any range or field reports?

No familiarity personally with the Bergara, which looks to be a nice gun, but in that price range I'd be looking at the Tikkas that EuroOptic is currently blowing out. There's some excellent values in lots of calibers available for less than the Bergara.

I know but here we have an opportunity to get a remington 700 action like never before.

They have taken all the things Rem700 customers all over have been asking for in the last few decades and delivered
that in an affordable package. This platform leaves the factory SPS in the dust at comparable prices.
This deal will not last I am sure.

Not many calibers but the barrels are top of the line. Shilen match technolgy. They actually partner with Shilen to create a very consistent barrel.

This guy from the SH is shooting a tactical bergara (Same action) with a tactical chasis and he is nailing that plate.

The stock is nothing like the american, sps, tikka or savage plastic stock. It is not a McMillan but it is also not one of those bottom barrel ones.

I think the tactical version is also a steal for the price tag.

Aimtite, what about Bergara's action makes you think it's some major improvement over a Remington? No argument that Remington's QC out of the box is a crap shoot at best, but a properly blueprinted Remington action will meet or EXCEED the accuracy of ANY custom action. Single most accurate gun I own is not based on any custom action (and I own several) but a plain vanilla Remington reworked to perfection.

Bergara's not reinvented the wheel with their action as far as I can tell, and while the B14 looks to be a nicely put together gun, it's somewhat pricey relative to it's peers IMO. For less than a grand, it's likely worth a try, but still believe the Tikka at current prices is tough to beat.

Frank's a smart guy, but he's pimping product like never before since Scout bought him out. His "upgrades" consist of putting $1000+ carbon fiber barrels on $900 rifles, with a $3000 optic?!

That Bergara is wearing $6k+ in aftermarket parts and optics, and that's the model for all his "upgrades". He's done the same bullshit with the latest Tikka project, and previously on the RPR.Who doesn't want to spend more upgrading their Tikka, than it would have cost to buy a NEW Accuracy International AT?

That's the kind of craziness he's now selling at Snipers Hide, so keep it in mind when you're watching his videos, there's product to move and he's on it. Between his new friends at Prime Ammo and Cadex Chassis', the product pushing is beyond overt IMO.

I know that SH guy is a tool. He destroyed the SH and created a QVC channel for firearms.

All I tried to represent is that:

The actions are very tight yet smooth.
The trigger is really a timmey and as good as any aftermarket match trigger
Bolt release where it should be from factory.
Very smooth action
Great barrels
Specially tolerances and timing have been corrected. no need to blueprint this one.

The tikka is an awesome rifle but the 700 is the most popular action on the planet and this is a huge improvement over the factory ones.
The price is hard to beat.

Plus lets not forget about the Savage 10 PC that is also very hard to beat value out of the box.

Nothing glamorous or Swedish, they just shot.

I would give bergara a try if I found one at the right price. Wonder if bergara has the same footprint as a Remington 700. I would love to hear more real world review on the bergara rifles.

The problem with frank on sh is I don't think I have seen one bad review on anything.....so is it really a review or more of a showcase. I do remember in one video he had issues with a set of scope rings but it wasn't the product being reviewed. I don't mind his tikka build up. Some people can't afford or save enough to purchase a high end rifle. Easier to piece it together for some people. If I had to choose between a pieced together rifle and a aiat for the same price I would go aiat.

I think the best gang for the buck now are the leftover Tikka t3 based on reviews I have read. I have a tikka t3x Ctr but I have not shot it yet but the action is nice and smooth.
