If I take the pistol upper off my AR pistol and throw my rifle length upper on it (over all length over 26") then my buddy without a pistol permit can shoot the "other" all he wants.

I think he could probably carry the whole pistol around as long as the upper and lower aren't attached, since NY doesn't have "constructive possession" AFAIK.

They need money for that new green deal ... My bet they will start with the AR-15 and extend it to every gun in this country... And for good measure ... It will be a yearly tax ... Not the same as the federal constructive possession notion that the ATF exercises.

The ATF version says if you have an AR lower with a stock, and a pistol upper you are in "constructive possession" of an unregistered SBR unless you also have another upper with a 16+" barrel.

I used to see a plan like this and think, "no way. This is a laundry list of what they want. But they know they won't get it all". But now, if they take the house, senate and white house, they will pass this. No idea what the courts would do, but you can bet your ass they will threaten the supreme court to get their way. I would hope it would be struck down and used as toilet paper, but I just don't know.

If the dems take everything, the supreme court better grow a spine. All bets would be off if they decide to add justices or rotate them out, though.

I would expect a small number of people to either comply or turn in their guns, but I think you'll see mass non compliance. Maybe even push back on the state level as well. Our backs would truly be to the wall and out balls to the bandsaw. We would all have nothing to lose at that point.

Also my thoughts. Everyone has their limits of what they are willing to endure and what's too much. There is that "line in the sand" and pretty soon the leftists are going to be pushing law abiding rule followers too far and they will reap what they have sown.

But I am at the point where I will no longer condemn someone who has and takes action, provided they are "resisting" the right people.

I'm not ready to slit throats yet, but I am ready to say "well, he had it coming" if I read about it in the paper

Agree. I'm not saying I've crossed my line yet either. I just meant that in a general sense that different people have different thresholds and perhaps some of those with the lower thresholds are nearing that point

If they come for your AR, there's not much you can do honestly. Maybe take a couple low level guys with you, but really it's not going to make a difference.
