same with airsoft matches .. the sniper will light you up .. lol

The difference between "Cover" and "Concealment" is gone over in a later installment, I bet

Yes for sure. People who know what they are doing and understand ballistics are likely to just keep shooting right through concealment.
The average untrained uneducated criminal might not have that same thought process.

Either way it's good advice to give yourself every advantage you can. You want as little exposure and flagging as possible, you want to maximize speed, surprise and bring unpredictable.

Like others I learned this as a kid playing paintball and airsoft.
