It looks like TX has a couple different things happening. Nasdaq Texas and the Texas Stock Exchange (Blackrock).
The companies are dual listed right now. I'm not sure what that means for an investor though.

What benefit is there to move the Stock Exchange from NY to TX?
I can see a company moving out of NY to escape the radically high taxes, and other interference in company operations.
But the Stock Exchange is just a listing, isn't it? Does the company listed owe anything to NY for being listed on the Stock Exchange?

Massive wealth will go with it. TX is probably the most favorable state for almost anything that is good for a business, and high earners. TX's economy rivals most countries already. Wall St is about the only thing NY has going for it right now. NYS might even try to go to TX after this.

The stock exchange itself is a massive company, and it supports a massive range industry built around it.
Many of those stock brokers and the whole infrastructure that supports them are only in NY because that's where the exchange is.
The problem with having most of your population paying no taxes is that you get fucked when the few people who do pay find a way to escape.
