A wise person once told me, just because you "can" doesn't mean you "should"

But I do appreciate what he was trying to do, if we can't actually exercise our rights, do they really exist in practice???

I can appreciate his end game as well but after what happened he should have picked up his gin and left. He should not have reloaded it standing in front of the cops. Get in the car, leave, then reload the mag. It’s never wise to piss those off that outgun you heavily.

I don’t agree with what the cops did and they violated his rights for sure. I also don’t agree with the courts saying he was arrested so his rights weren’t violated, really many get arrested and released because it turns out they didn’t commit a crime. To me they can’t have it both ways.
As you said just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Good life lesson.

I understand your point that folks that do this kind of thing are putting themselves in harm's way regardless of the fact that they are exercising their Constitutional rights. That said, the fact that these rights were paid for in blood certainly suggests they're worth defending with the same potential cost.
