Sounds like a dick move, but what do you all think that are guardsman?

It seems like the county wanted him gone and he also seems like someone who takes advantage of the system? Maybe a situation where 2 wrongs are not right

The local story is that the individual submitted the appropriate paperwork on multiple occasions and the county never acknowledged or responded. It's been turned into quite a local political football each side pointing fingers as to who dropped the ball and more importantly why? Erie County executive Poloncarz is a major Cuomo ass sucking anti-2A personality who wants to turn Erie County into NYC West (disclaimer: I don't like the asshole). Guess I'd like to know how Ramos played the system if the Guard was issuing orders?

Sounds to me like he was double dipping for awhile and they took the first chance they had to get rid of him.

FWIW just how long should an employer keep a job open when a service member is called up for an "indefinite period of time"?

It sounds like he was still working for the guard doing some sort of disaster preparedness stuff. His orders expired and he should have updated the paperwork and failed to do so. Seems like his leave request expired.
