Erie county pistol adding timeframe

3.5 weeks ago I mailed in the form to Erie county to add another pistol to my permit. Still haven’t gotten anything back yet. 2 months ago it would take about a week for them to make the change and get it back. Anybody having this kind of a wait with Erie county right now?

Last time I sent an add (in mid August) it took over two weeks.

They were streamlining the process pre Covid. Shut down, re opened virtual, opened by appointment, played catchup via mail for existing permits, started taking applications again. The riots hit and it was a sunami of new applications and permit adds all over again.They never replaced Will Fowler and the #2 guy Alan has been really the guy holding down the fort. For it's size and having a non supportive asshole county executive compared to other counties they're not too shabby. The county exec wanted them on a permanent hard shutdown throughout covid. The pp judge is hard core pro 2A (but old). Between Boller and Alan they got the machine going. They're probably breaking new records right now. They're not the office of years ago.

Still nothing yet. Into 4.5 weeks now. I could understand if it was a new application but for the 10 minutes it takes to type some info into a computer and print a new card this is getting rediculous

I have 4 guns waiting at my FFL waiting to be picked up. Haven't sent the coupons to the ppo yet. 4.5 weeks is a long time for me to be sweating about the mail every day. My wife works from home now. I'd have to intercept the envelope before she gets it from the mailbox. What a shit show that office is. They're great people, but wtf?

I bought a stainless sig right before covid hit. I was very excited to get that, and it took a couple months.

Give them a call just to make sure it hasn't gotten lost in the mail. I would.

The last pistol I added was July and it took about 2 weeks. The salesman said it was taking customers 3-5 days to get it back so I "patiently" waited about a week and when I still didn't have it back in the mail I politely called to just double check they had it and we're processing it and that it wasn't lost in the mail. About 4-5 days later I had it back in my possession.

Oh that’s right I forgot, anything government doesn’t work normal hours like any other business. Sorry if I’m salty but I would just like to be able to pickup the property I paid for, that I am legally allowed to own, after jumping thru all the hoops set forth.
I’m also extra salty because it happens to be a gun off of my bucket list that I have wanted to own for my entire life.

I called the permit office today and got a nice lady on the phone. She said they were running 8 weeks behind currently but doing their best. Guess I will keep on waiting.

As much as that sucks at least you know where you stand and they haven't lost your ppwk. It's just a matter of being frustrated and patience now.

So, is the whole of City Hall closed? Or is it just the bastard services like the PPO? I'm sure the county clerk is still collecting taxes on Franklin Street. Perhaps we should be entitled to a pro-rated refund of our county taxes if we're not getting the same services as usual. I like Micky, but I wish he would put up a bigger stink about the office being closed.
