A local neighbor/actor has been harassing this range with lawsuits, trying to get it shut down.

The range has a gofundme, to fight back against the frivolous lawsuits.

Catskill Town Code Enforcement Officer Elliot Fishman ruled the site was in violation of the code and sent a cease-and-desist letter last month. The range is considered a special use under town law and its special-use permit allows recreational shooting, but the Greene County Sheriff’s Office used the facility to train for about 20 days in October."

so there bitching that the cops use it and its not recreational shooting then .. ban the cops the use of it .. done deal .. specially when it looks like the cops are backing up there BS . its professional shooting ..

Agreed I have been saying this all along. They should shoot Cannons off just for fun every 10 minutes. No projectiles, just celebration noise! I still believe this is the side effect of overuse of Marijuana!

Are you sure of this? @Acer-m14has been around a long time and would not strike me as such a person. Perhaps its mistaken identity.

Btw, I was born and raised in the neighborhood of the range. I hope your troubles go away as I plan to take some training there in the fall.

I think you're going to find a lot of people will be skeptical of that claim as Acer has been a member here for a long time and comes off as nothing less than a gun enthusiast and second amendment supporter. Many would find it hard to believe that such a person would try to get a shooting range shut down.

I'm hoping it's nothing more than a mistaken identity. As I said in the post above, I'm glad you're here, I hope you stick around and I've personally donated to help support the fight you're going through.
