Hochul added, “If every state had the same laws uniformly, you could not have a situation where we fight really hard in the state of New York to make sure that we have the toughest gun laws in the nation. We have the lowest of all the large states homicide rate by guns. New York City, New York State, has the lowest homicide rate by guns in the nation for large states, and that’s because of laws that are working. We want that same sense of urgency to go out across the nation.”

She'll bark and yap trying to earn political capitol, but very little of the State and certainly damn little of the Country is interested in another Assault Weapons Ban.Never waste an opportunity for publicity whenever there is a disaster to promote your agenda. We all wish PSA sold and that we could buy 'M4' rifles (for educational and display purposes only, of course)
I'm sure there is a significant number of people both in New York and in the Country who would love to see another CLinton-style "assault weapon" ban put in place.
A comment on one of Elise Stefanik's posts to Farsebook stated "Bill Clinton's Assault Weapon ban lowered mass shootings by 43%".
I'd love to know where they got THAT statistic from.
But there were many other posts in support of heil hochul and her un-Constitutional and un-American bullshit.

can you point me to where Stefanik posted this so I can see the context in which it was used if its been taken out of context or if she ever said this on a search nothing about it comes up

He's saying that someone commented on a post of Stefanik's, not that she said it.
There's a possibility it's true, but if so, it's the usual confusion: correlation is not causation. Homicide rates and crime rates in general have been dropping for decades. No one can point to any single law or policy that has caused this, there are a million potential causes. Could be the expansion of concealed carry, could be the impacts of legalized abortion, could be the banning of MSRs, could be the un-banning of MSRs... could be any combination of the bajillion things that happened over and before that time period.
