Because they’re members of a money-sucking , lazy entitled labor union. How can they be allowed to strike when we are at war!
They're Contractor, not Federal Employees, and while I expect there are clauses and requirements, the way contracts are OFTEN mis-managed or poorly written it's a wonder anything productive gets done. How can they be allowed to strike when we are at war!
Many people not employed by the Feds are deemed essential and not allowed to strike. From what I’m told I’m one of them. I don’t care to strike so I’ve never looked into it. Of If I hate my job or feel I’m underpaid I’ll get a new one. They're Contractor, not Federal Employees, and while I expect there are clauses and requirements, the way contracts are OFTEN mis-managed or poorly written it's a wonder anything productive gets done.
Not that we had issues enough to ever utter the words "Strike" we were forbidden from doing so and all Federal Employees (at least non supervisory) were represented by a Union irrespective membership. Unions under proper and effective leadership are benefit to both employee and employer, problem is most aren't capable or competent to do so. For a decade we were considerably underpaid the prevailing wage for Grade compared to the Syracuse area and the Seaway until some people that actually knew WTF they were doing, got the proper documentation and did appropriate submissions: my job (after I retired of course) went up five and some change an hour, becoming line with others in the Region. Many people not employed by the Feds are deemed essential and not allowed to strike. I think cops and firemen are in this class as well as others who serve the public or protect the public in some manner.
Same here. It’s hard to know where the issue is. Our union is liberal so they bash Hochul come contract time but then tell you to vote for her election time. Not that we had issues enough to ever utter the words "Strike" we were forbidden from doing so and all Federal Employees (at least non supervisory) were represented by a Union irrespective membership.
