Mods to S&M MP-15

I just picked up a 5.56 S&M MP15 and very happy. SInce its a NY legal firearm it has a funky looking stock without a weird pistol grip. Is this a mandated feature or can I change it?

Sure looks like one which doesn't make any sense because if it were fixed mag you can have all the bells and whistles if they make.they will buy it

OP the answer is it depends. If it’s a fixed mag set up you can do what you want. If detachable mag then you need to keep it featureless meaning no pistol grip, etc.

If you’re unfamiliar with NYS laws do your homework and get familiar ASAP.

Maybe it's the angle of the pic but that grip/stock or whatever that is looks aweful low to get a good sight picture.

And yes if it's a fixed mag like I asked before put whatever you want on it.

Here is my m&p10 and 15. Different route than yours, but still featureless. That stock looks a little wonky, but with me having 3 fingers and half of my palm dangling in space, what can I say...

The grip on that is a straight up pistol grip with a stock attached to it. It hangs below the action like one. Not sure of how that would be looked at by LE. The Thordsen stock has a much more traditional rifle stock grip, the angle of which pushes the webbing of your thumb above the action. If you are wanting to go the featureless route I'd suggest ditching that stock and getting a Thordsen or even a Spur if the Thordsen is too fuggly for your tastes.

Gee I wonder if maybe there should be a restriction on thread posting abilities for people with less than 50+ posts???? @NYGuns @HEX might save the forum and it's members a lot of annoyance as well as weed out these types of hit and run threads.
