It's a family tradition to go out in the streets and beat random colored people after pumpkin pie. My grade school actually had Thanksgiving plays reinforcing this concept. The week of Thanksgiving we'd bring in our favorite beating implements to show our classmates and tell stories of Thanksgivings past.
