New Gunshop Opening in Harrison, NY

I've used this guy once in the past for a transfer. He runs a FFL operation from his kitchen table but is now opening a retail store. I can't imagine the amount of bull shit he must have to deal with trying to get this done. I wish him luck.

Lou is a friend, a most excellent paramedic, gunsmith, and training colleague. He's done a few handgun transactions for me, a evil black rifle when we could no longer have them, and I've purchased, begged and borrowed all kinds of shit from him. He is the kinda guy where if you don't want the truth, don't ask his opinion.

Well...the one shoe dropped. Apparently there is a hearing, folks are trying to get his shop closed.

Just a thought on the sign [ No Guns signs have no force of law in NY ] As is often said *concealed is concealed* That being said I see such signs at other shops, and I take it to mean if you are bring a firearm into the store for any number of reasons (Not CCW) to sell, appraisal, find a holster or such. Have it unloaded and cased.

I needed a holster for one of my pistols awhile back I did just this, it was in a case unloaded. Got a holster off the rack and went to the counter and asked to try it for fit. Told the guy I didn't just want to take the pistol out at the rack an try it! He said you would be surprised how many people do just that ( No I wouldn't ) So I think that is what is meant by such a sign! This shop I was at also gives you a cheap felt rifle case for used rifles that don't have a box to leave the shop with, Which I leave in the car as it has come in handy when I buy a rifle at a Gun Show!

So I don't think this guy is not supporting our 2A rights!!

To answer the bring it in question, I totally agree wih cased and unloaded of course, if it's a repair or appraisal or whatever, and any smart law abiding gun owner should know that.
