I was going to change my username to something quite different but I kept this for familiarity reasons. I see lots of new names here that I know came from the other forum. I think everyone should put their old username in their signature line for a little while until everyone gets used to the new screen names.

Never a big Biggie fan, but do like one of his protoges - Jadakiss - Kiss has style and talent, and some of his songs are pretty ingenious.

I used to freak out the homies when I lived in Syracuse by blasting Pac or Kiss at max vol in my 2003 Park Avenue - with shades on no less.

Definite WTF moment - What the hell is tha old white guy doin'? And yeah, I'm old = pushing 70 - I've toned it down a bit to Disturbed and FFDP.

I was thinking about making a post about exactly that. Many of you guys obviously know where @NirvanaFan and myself come from, but you may not be as familiar with @NYGuns.
He is a member from 'the other place' known there as 'iLikeGuns'. He has a ton of technical experience working with forums and servers and has at least several times in the past offered his assistance to me in fixing problems over there. Unfortunately due to my own lack of access and ability to get things done I was never able to take his help, though I very much would have liked to.

Anyway, skip ahead a bit to everything that went down in the other place, and NirvanaFan and I were talking a good amount and maybe even helping each other along in our soul searching for what we had to do about all of it. We had sort of discussed off-handedly that if it came down to it we could start our own place, but we weren't absolutely serious about it until we also got to really talking to @NYGuns. He approached @NirvanaFan with some ideas and the HUGE part of what he could bring to the table, where he learned we were already discussing the logistics. Nirvana fan and Myself have both since spent LOT of time talking with NYguns and he's become a friend to us both (he even got me to spend a couple hours on the phone, and that's really something). I can say this, he's one of US and his heart is in the right place with all of this. It's almost amazing how much we've all been on the same page trying to make this happen. We're in constant 3-way chat and every detail is a collaborative effort.

@NYGuns is definitely to be thanked because none of this at all would be happening if not for everything he's doing here.

Thanks for the nice presentation. I was over there from the beginning but then moved on due to lack of interest and after key members had fled. The rest you know what happened long before the whole thing went down the drain.
The nice thing is we have great experiences and some good friends some local some remote but all good stuff, just a couple of unfortunate exceptions.
A forum is a lot of work so good for you and thanks for contributing to the community.

Thanks for the kind words @HEX, I was about to post "I was a nobody at the other place" :D. Anyway, for those who don't know me, my name is Mike and I am iLikeGuns on the other site. I was never really too active there for a few reasons but did communicate with @HEX and @NirvanaFan a few times via PM's while I was there. Fast forward to today and here we are. Basically, I'm a web developer and techie with a love for firearms. I shoot weekly, practice daily (with lasers), and constantly am looking to add to my collection and go shooting. I'm very excited about this place and plan on remaining as active as possible both on the front end and backend.

Its a shout out to one of my favorite movie characters, Critical Bill Dooley played by Treat Williams in the movie "Things To Do In Denver When Youre Dead". One of the most underated movies ever.

Well I'm glad you three put this all together. I really like the format and the mobile site works seamlessly from my Galaxy, many sites aren't that great going mobile. I didn't think I recognized NYGuns from the other site, but do remember seeing his old name around there. Hell, I even let Mike play in my box today, ummm...Linux box :D
Yep, kept my same name, it's a carryover from when I was into the old Cub Cadet garden tractors.
