SUSPECTED CASE, CONTACT OR CARRIER OF A CONTAGIOUS DISEASE THAT, IN THE
OPINION OF THE GOVERNOR, AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER, MAY
POSE AN IMMINENT AND SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH RESULTING

GEE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE COMMISSIONER OR THE HEADS OF

What does that even mean? What if they determine certain "beliefs" may be a significant threat all of a sudden? Going to turn minority report REAL fast if this doesn't get clarification.

I could see this as being a massive violation, if -- in true NY fashion -- it is interpreted in the most insane way possible. First, forth, and sixth amendments out the window.

Pretty bold of them, what could possibly go wrong?
Wouldn't take much of a stretch to convince some judges that certain free thinking conservative types could "infect" communities with not so progressive thoughts.

All the more reason people need to band together and get involved in politics. We can't just sit around and say "Oh well, it's upstate. Can't do anything."

This is EXACTLY the time to push. NYC is in shambles. The liberal strongholds are fucked right now, and people are leaving them en masse. Maybe upstate will matter more next time -- who knows. If NYC never bounces back, then NY state becomes a battleground politically.

The whole thing scares me!
I would have to reread this at a time that is not 2AM to truly grasp it all, but it seems that one can suddenly go missing for any of the above mentioned reasons and they may reach out to your contacts "to the extent feasible." So when they have dozens (hundreds, thousands) in containment and only hire 1 secretary to make calls...
This is disturbing indeed!

The only way to turn the left against this stuff is to use it against them.

If they pass this, some conservative jurisdiction needs to abuse it as far as possible to force the left to overturn it in court.

When you look at all the stuff that's been declared a "public health crisis" you start to understand the scope of it. It is the conplete abolishment of half of the bill of rights.

He has been pushing this before the Chinese Flu was a thing.

Seems I recall a few years back, - rumors that a large 'holding facility' was being built in a little corner of Ft. Collins, CO. No local fanfare about 'new missions or deployments' there, just large scale construction. Some other reports, throughout the country, of some 'government involvement' in the 'refurbishing' of some large, closed down or abandoned retail establishments, by various un-named agencies into something reputed to be some sort of 'containment facility', in several locales, spread throughout the U.S. - Yeah, I know, put the tin-foil hats on. - At this point, I think nothing could surprise me. -- " Hey come look through the window pane, - the bus is coming, gonna take us to the train".

Shit will get real and fast if this gets passes. I’ll be an enemy of the state? This is how they will strip is of gun rights.

I have no doubt this will pass and I’m sure the lack of a vaccine will put you on said list. Funny thing is if you recieved the vaccine or not is protected information and you don’t need to provide it to the government. This better get challenged.

Pretty sure NY would do this with or without passing this bill. What is very scary to me is they are making it public and people are OK with it. The assemblyman that sponsored this bill numerous times... I probably shouldn't say it.

Not what I was thinking. My thought is they will find out you didn’t get vaccinated and most of us that don’t want the vaccine are conservative gun owners. They will remove you from your home because you’re a health threat and ph we can’t leave these guns here to be stolen so we will confiscate them for safety reasons and you’ll never see them again.
