Question to any law enforcement. Did any of you receive an update to your penal law book, from which you charge people with a violation or crime, about the law being changed to 10 rds?

If it is still in the penal law book that the police carry around then, it's still a law. The police are just choosing to not enforce it.

NY permits are not NYC permits. Two separate things. Apply for a NYC permit and they will have the obligation to approve it.

So if this is true what is all this hype about. There’s only approximately 1700 people who have the right to carry a gun in the five boroughs 1400 more have carry licenses issue by other counties that need New York City endorsement to carry in the five boroughs and approximately 16,462 city residents that have premises permits.

Are these the folks that are going to cause all future mass shootings and killings that are going to occur in New York City and the surrounding Burroughs?

I skimmed through the whole decision and to me it seems like while they are clear that "shall issue" licensing for concealed carry is allowed (as in 43 other states) the current NYS scheme of licensing to even purchase a handgun is unconstitutional and should be null and void. You should be allowed to purchase a handgun to keep in your home and to take locked to a range just as you can currently do with a rifle and shotgun. Anyone else reading this the same way?

I’ve gotta finish reading this but as with Heller I am already seeing some language that’s going to allow New York to continue their licensing scheme. If it still takes 18 months to get a pistol license and you have to show every single document that you have received over your entire life: DMV abstract, address history, work history etc. I’m not sure how this is truly going to help people who want to apply for a license to even own a pistol in New York let alone carry it.

The decision specifically states in the first few paragraphs that an objective licensing scheme is OK. Well who’s to say that New York’s licensing scheme is not objective if they simply remove the proper clause but keep all of the other bullshit?
