Correct, but again the sensitive places comment was not a blanket comment since the justice provided a few places that were sensitive back then. That to me indicates they can’t just add every place they want to as a sensitive area and restrict our rights through that. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s how I understand it.

I am sorry to hear you are so incompetent with regards to not only boating, but shooting as well.
The first time I put a boat in the water it was quite easy. Pulling away from the dock I didn't even scrape the hull, and moving among other boaters was no different than driving down the road.
You CAN drive down the road, right?
Bringing the boat back into the dock and onto the trailer was similarly easy.

With regard to shooting: the first time I shot a pistol I had no difficulty getting 10 rounds in an 8x10 target at 50 feet. This was a full size 9mm, and I had never shot a pistol before. It didn't take long before I was hitting bullseyes.

While I believe it is in someone's best interests to practice and become proficient with their firearm that ABSOLUTELY is not a requirement for owning and carrying. Sometimes even just showing a gun can save a life.

in addition, you CANNOT legally touch a pistol in NY unless you have a permit. And if you can't practice, how do you get the permit to be able to practice to get good enough to get the permit?

My first experience with a boat I was 21. Bought my first boat. 17' 150hp stern drive. First ever backing into the launch at Ithaca on Cayuga. First time backing out into boat traffic, first time piloting around other boats. First time docking and loading. Not a single problem and no experienced boaters screaming at me about what I might have done wrong.

First time shooting a handgun wad when I was 18. Gov issued 1911 my buddies dad owned and used in war. Kept all rounds on target at probably 30'. First handgun I bought on my permit, a wore out gov issued 1911. Took some time and a rebuild of the 1911 before I started consistent hitting bullseye but got there.

Based on that they should rule against any new laws that are not in compliance with the 2A. They have basically been mandated to by the highest court in the country. If they don't, it will surely find its way to a highly sympathetic supreme court.

The supreme court explicitly stated that 2A exists to protect the right to carry in places like public transit. Yet their first objective is to ban carry on public transit.

I don’t get the giving business signs the force of law. What if I made a sign that said no one in a green shirt or I’ll have them arrested? I get that’s a little bit ridiculous, but now we’re giving private citizens the option to arrest us for exercising our rights without contact or asking us to leave first?

Arizona has an interesting approach to that.

Businesses are allowed to forbid guns on their premises, but if they want their signs to have force of law they need to provide secure storage for the guns.

Just slapping a sign on the door isn't sufficient, they need to actively participate in disarming their patrons.

I don't understand how they can make carrying on private property illegal unless there is signage that says guns are welcome. They have that whole thing backwards. The default is that it is always legal unless otherwise posted.

They will do it like they did covid.

They will extort the business owners into prohibiting it against their will.

Then some idiots will defend that as being the private property rights of the businesses that were forced to do that against their will.

They'll add it as a condition of the business license or something.

"Your normal license requires you to prohibit firearms, bit for an extra $1000/year you can have the enhanced license that allows it, and also adds a bunch of additional onerous requirements".

Then when the business that doesn't really want to prohibit anything sees someone printing, they'll have to call the cops or risk their license.

Then the cops show up and trespass the guy and say to themselves "the owner has a right to post his property" as if it was his choice to do so.

This stance they are taking that it will be illegal to carry a gun somewhere unless it is posted that it is allowed is so outrageous. NO ONE is going to post that it's ok. Stores will not want to get involved. If there is a shooting, even if done by a gangster Wirth 14 prior felonies, it will still be blamed on that business that they allowed it to happen. Wow this is so messed up. My unrestricted permit is now being restricted beyond belief.

This is EXACTLY what it means. And this will not be a simple request. It will be thew law. Violate it and become a felon. No more guns. Ever.
Don't think it can happen? All it will take is someone to *suspect* you may be carrying. The police will come and give you a lawful "pat down" for their "safety". You will then be found to be in violation of the new law ' Possession in a gun free zone", a felony, no doubt. The "concealed is concealed" thing is playing with fire and many will be charged and convicted.
