Protests do work and they work best when:
- folks get to the streets.
- they are frequent and grow.
- they are peaceful yet relentless. Violent folks and lunatics better stay home.
- In the past people made a huge banner, put their best suit on, and took it outside.
- need great communicators who can engage and convey a vision and a message people will identify with.
- for this we need diversity and show how lost rights affect everyone.
- What is great about this is the grassroots nature vs. The NRA type of publicity that is useless and out of touch and always on the defensive side. The NRA is worthless.
- Right ti self defense and 2A ha to be marketed as politically correct. Put victims of liberal laws on the front.

The VA governor is not going to do shit. He is stupid but not that stupid to start aomething he has no right of doing and he cannot win. At the moment they are counting on fear to do the job but it wont this time.

This draconian stuff States are pulling needs to hit the Supreme Court table ASAP.

Yeah, he's got something going on that isn't being made public. But then the fact that he survived the Blackface thing unscathed shows that he can have confidence in the machine covering his six, and also knowing it will bastardize our allies on the twentieth.

Perfect situation for all those states that have registration for "assault weapons," handguns, etc. "Some people do something" and bam, everyone that has a gun that's registered in any way, shape, or form will be complete banned and confiscated.

Exactly...this is why some people, like Matt Bracken and Aesop at Raconteur Report, are saying that this rally, or more particularly its location, is a bad idea. That it's essentially a setup...another Charlottesville debacle.

Bracken put it in words and drew this...called it a "Buffalo Jump" - look it up...

The Tea Party gathering at the Washington mall was the largest ever in the history of that storied venue and actually left the place cleaner than when they got there. Big media called those thousands, some said over a million, of ordinary concerned Americans racists and a lot of other derogatory epithets. What makes anyone think this will be any dissnerent, no matter how well and orderly this goes.
So what, it's got to be done.

Well, if a shitty, nasty, ugly, long-lasting and painful guerilla war is what they're itching for as an excuse to ban firearms, they should be careful what they wish for.

Just from an economic standpoint, the effects would be staggering.

I can't see Trump declaring martial law nationwide. Maybe in the state of Virginia. Use the NG to separate both sides, while things cool off. Expedite the whole shebang to SCOTUS, drop it right square in their laps.

That's their job. To settle disputes.

I'd love to see that ruling.

It's all been mostly pure conjecture. All we know for sure is the state government of VA plans on passing a slew of anti-gun unconstitutional laws, a lot of ppl in VA are very unhappy about that, and there's rallies scheduled, with the main event under the Big Top scheduled for Jan. 20th.
