I know your not allowed to carry on school grounds ect, but is there anything that prevents the carrying to other poll placed Example Firehouse ? Trying to figure out if this falls under some temporary federal location due to the polling equipment or something.

If no there is no metal detectors or security with a wand, you can carry unless the polling place is in a school.

Actually, the part about prohibited "On the grounds of a residential child care facility" is wrong. If you go to the regulation they use to support that, it says that "employees, volunteers, and consultants" will not possess firearms in the facility. There is no mention of visitors.

As I said, I was guessing it was factual but I guess I should have known better than for those leftists to get it right. Regardless, others sources I have seen list about 10 states, six of which forbid any firearms in polling places and four which ban concealed carry in polling places and NY is not one of them. Just remember, if the polling place is a school, do not carry. This linked piece (from ConcealedCarry.org) says there are six states that forbid firearms in polling places, then goes on, later in the article, to mention another four that forbid them if concealed. Of course, there could also be local prohibitions.

I have never seen one at a polling place, nor even a security officer, in all of my 43 years or so since I cast my first ballot (and except for one, I have voted in every presidential since, I missed that one because of last minute travel for work for which I received little notice and thus had no time to obtain an absentee ballot). I take voting seriously and as my duty as an American and vote even in most minor elections when aware of them.
I did. XDS45 in the small of my back and a S&W Model 60 357 on my hip.
