Most are aware that Reddit is a leftist paradise, but you'd think a firearm sub would believe in the Constitution. I was just banned because a Mod disagrees with my opinion. Specifically, my opinion was that Alex Pretti was a victim of his own choices, not murder. The dipshit Mod accused me of spreading misinformation and dropped the hammer. Could not cite what sub rule I had broken and just hid behind "Mod discretion". Consider this a PSA.

This happens all the time. I got banned from a local community forum because I didn’t use my real name and I was pointing out facts and failures of the democrats. The mod was a democrat so he asked me a few questions on who I was. I told him I was t using my real name because people get rude and cause trouble. He told me I needed to have my real name. I pointed out others that use fake names but I was ignored. Censorship is real.

So, perhaps ironically, we're going to have to moderate this one. Reason being, we've always maintained a policy of not allowing threads that are just for bashing other platforms and moderation actions on them. Usually this applies to other forums. This is party due to our origins as a separate site from "the old place", and not wanting to encourage actions people were taking there, but also because we've occasionally had people trolling other sites and sort of wanting to use this as a home base to report their trolling progress and bans. That's not a good look.

That said, this is not that, but it does fall under that same umbrella. So, I think we're just going to close this one to further replies, since this is more of a policy we do and not in the rules. While the 1A is not applicable on private platforms (which I have to tell someone every time they're banned for a racial slur or something), that IS seemingly a very stupid reason to ban someone and Reddit does suck.

Just as a note: Since we always have maintained that policy, but it's never been in the rules, I did add it into the forum rules 'etiquette' section (rules 9 -12) because it's not exactly a HARD rule, and no one is going to get banned for it.
Added as "12. We generally do not allow threads about other platform's moderation practices. What happens on other forums isn't our business, but specifically this rule exists to discourage the site being used to 'troll' other forums."

Sorry you're unhappy about it @Modean , but the point is that we (Unlike Reddit mods apparently) maintain the same standards and practices for everybody and keep it sensible and fair. If we allowed this thread, then that would go against how other's have been dealt with, and that would not be fair. The policy exists for a good reason, to solve a problem we've had in the past.

I do enjoy your use of "dipshit mod" in any case.. dipshit is my favorite insult.. heh.
