Recertification question

I tried searching the forum and can't seem to find the answer for this.

Trying to settle a disagreement, I told my friend that you will have to recertify your permit but would not be receiving a special card to carry with your permit. He is positive that the NYSP are going to send out special cards that state you have recertified.

I am looking to find a place that states in black and white you will not receive a recertification card to prove this to him. I am not sure where he gets his info from but swears I am incorrect.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have not seen anything on an official site saying that they are sending out a card, but they have mentioned it.

Look on the FAQ recertification page of the NYSP.

The FAQ just says that they would not reissue you a new permit, not that they won't send a special card to have on your person with your permit.

I'm sure I will have to pay a registration fee for the vehicle I will need to carry all the paper work required whenever I leave my premises. FUNY isn't it, FUAC!

So, I couldn't take it any more and I called the 855lawguns number for the NYSP.

Here it is straight from the jackboots mouth, "we will not be sending out any cards or forms to keep with your permit"

Not sure what you are talking about, my OP was if the NYSP would send out a card to keep with your permit to show you have recertified.

Sorry for the confusion. They made it so no extra card would be needed.
Your PP is now tied into your DL info, so the popo probably know your status as soon as they approach your vehicle, and if not as soon as they get back to their laptop.

I expect a " must notify officer" as next in their plans.

When I checked and say my renewal was approved, it said to print the page as you would not receive anything else.

Not that many years ago when I received an amendment to my license I received a NICS statement that was used to buy a gun without a NICS check at the store. Still had to fill out 4473 but it was not called in. I was told a federal agency stopped this practice in NY State because our licenses were issued for life. In some other states that had renewals this practice continues.
