I suspect most of his wants were all lies to get elected. Look at Bernie sanders. Bernie has never had a legislative bill passed. Bernie is a functional idiot with a mouth to get people riled up and Mamdani will be the same. Mamdani will push things slightly left but not many of his plans will come to fruition.

They are also going to let the beluga whales at marine land die. I’m sorry I went to see them years ago with my children and they are magnificent creatures. So beautiful and gentle. They need something more extreme. Those places either went down hill slowly, or have been a shithole so long that people just think "that's just the way it is".
Sort of like the border. The democrats kept saying "this is as secure as it can reasonably get" until Trump dropped illegal crossings by 90% in just a couple months.
Basically, it takes a sudden chance to convince people. They need to see the stark contrast between a properly managed city and a shithole.
Otherwise you get the SF thing where people just think need a "shit tracking app" is just how things are in a city.

Portland is a great example of this. They decriminalized all personal amounts of drug and drug use. It didn’t last long because their idealistic moronic view didn’t work. Homelessness, crime, and prostitution among many other things spiked significantly. People complained, businesses complained, and many fled the area. The people hated it. Yet many love Portland and their socialism ideas.
Nothing will change these morons views. They are either so caught up in whatever they believe, they are too stupid, or they just want to push this for some other reason. I do t think most people are that stupid so it’s the others IMO.
Look at the left right now. We hate billionaires, but oh wait we hand out government checks to billionaires all the time.
I saw a post on Facebook by some moron saying to hurt billionaires and show them we are in charge people should not buy anything Black Friday week. They even said go out to dinner and all this other stupid stuff. I thought to myself people will just buy the week before or the week after and they won’t notice. Billionaires employ many and innovate a lot. Not to mention how many small businesses will be hurt and how many billionaires own restaurants? Most are all small locally owned joints and even the chains are owned by billionaires most times. They don’t even know what they speak of.
