Still amazes me where we've gotten to in society today.
If i went to my doctors office today and asked him to amputate my right arm so I could live out my years as a lefty, they'd tell me I needed counseling to work through the problem and probably prescribe some pills.
If I asked that same doctor to cut my dick off I'd be told I'm stunning and brave and can get an appt on Tuesday.

Virtually nothing about this part of the story in the media. He's a hero in my book and definitely saved some lives.

He is the quintessential unassuming and unsung hero. We need more like him.
From watching the video, it is not clear to me exactly what happened that his hand got cut up at the web between his thumb and index finger.
Did his hand get caught in the slide discharge port as the gun was cycling, which then prevented it from cycling a fresh round and going into battery?
It would have also been nice to know model and details about the two reportedly identical handguns.
In any event, he did a great thing in a flash, without hesitation, and in the face of death if he had failed.
