Anyone ever experience this, I have a Frankford Arsenal platinum digital bench scale. When I put the trickler next to it the weight changes .4gr. Nothing is touching the scale. It's a Frankford Arsenal trickler as well, not that it would matter. Just wondering if this should be something to worry about.

Just guessing here but try wiping the trickler down with a anti-static dryer sheet. Or maybe change the location of it, like to the other side.
It's not all that uncommon for an electronic scale to be sensitive to various items. This is frequently because the scale does not have sheilding to seperate the extremely sensitive load cells from outside interference. If that's the case, there is little you can do about it other than buying a better scale.
Load cells take time to heat up and are notoriously inaccurate until they are hot. Turn your scale on and walk away for 30 minutes. Then zero it and calibrate. That may be enough to prevent the trickler from interfering ( but I doubt it ) You should do that every time you're going to use the scale anyhow. I don't know anything about the scale you have, but if it has batteries, remove them and use only the power cord that came with the scale. Read the owners manual for the scale and see if there is a factory reset. Typically you press each button a number of times. That can get rid of "drifting" issues, and might get rid of the interference with your tumbler.

0.4 gr would be nothing to worry about if you were loading the .50 BMG cartridge, but is more than the difference between starting load and max load in the .25 ACP. My guess is that you're not loading for the 50, but more likely 9mm or .357 mag. 0.4 gr is too much deviation in any small capacity case. Get the issue solved before you actually load any rounds.

First thought was electromagnetic interference, and well that's pretty much what static electricity is.
Despite having a couple scale-dispensers, I never use them, instead I use an electronic scale to set the throw weight on a Powder Dispenser, or scoop into the pan for just a few rounds.
They all have their drawbacks and limitations, just how much accuracy and aggravation you want.

US Solid scales are reasonably priced and mine has been very dependable for a couple years now....

If you can't/don't want to get a better scale, then use your check weights and see if it's at least consistent when the trickler is present.

So yeah, I let the scale warm up for quite a while before hand. I also agree that as long as the weight is correct with the trickler next to it then who cares. I've had some other anomalies that I don't like. The scale is calibrated and zeroed everytime I use it and re-zeroed while using. I know a better scale is in order, but we do what we can. A set of check weights other than the cal weights is certainly something I need. I'm not exactly looking for match grade quality, i know what I bought. I'll try calling Frankford and see what they have to say.

I use a little Frankford Arsenal digital scale that's close to 15 years old for quick checks. The only time it gets funny is when the batteries get weak, or the scale is very cold. The small battery powered scales can't be warmed up like a bench-top balance. They are set to turn off after a certain time. If my basement is very cold, I'll put the scale in a pocket for a few minutes while the heater is warming the place up.
If I'm trickling rifle loads, I like a beam scale. I set it for the weight I want, and trickle until it hits.
I like the RCBS 5-0-5. You can usually find good deals on used ones.

Thats a big swing. I would guess static of some sort as well. Theres no substitute for a good scale when reloading.
Haven't been at the bench, however I was having trouble duplicating it. I'm going to see what happens next time I fire it up. I always warm this thing up for hours before I use it, but still get weird deviations. Then when I go back and check my powder weight from the case it comes back lighter, but not on all of them. Basically it would appear that I can't trust this thing. I'll probably call Frankford Arsenal and see if I can get a replacement. I know I should get a better one, however it's not in the immediate future so I'll just have to be extra vigilant.
OK, got the new scale. Powered them both up and let them warm up. Cal and zero with powder pan. After sitting for a couple hours the old one changed .5gr while the new one remained the same. I loaded 50rds of 6.5 grendel. I didn't notice anything change on the new scale. The old one I had to re-zero multiple times. Re-checked my charge weight on a few along the way and so far everything looks good. The backlighting on the new one is brighter too. Probably doesn't matter but just noticed it. So at least the new one seems consistent
