So a lot of you guys are "Come and take it guys", but one thing 99% of us are is LEO supporters. Not many people think of this, the people that will come and take it will be LEO's.

Scenerio: Our government becomes corrupt and rogue, martial law is declared, and now the government is coming for your guns.

Question: Are you going to do whatever it takes to make sure you keep your guns when the law enforcement comes to your house?

I feel like this is gonna need to be a serious thread, it's a good question in my opinion and not many people think of it this way, keep this thread clear with non relevant stuff, try not to joke around

@Airborneguy would you quit your job as a LEO if this were to happen knowing how risky your job will be if it comes down to taking peoples arms?

Gov will never take guns door to door en masse. Risk is too high. If it came to that, an essential repeal of the 2nd amendment and ban of civilian firearms:

1) No more new gun sales
2) No gun ranges
3) No more ammo sales
4) Prohibit ownership of existing guns with mandatory minimum sentence if you're found to be an owner

In this scenario the only people who own guns have them essentially hidden in their walls, they can't shoot them anywhere, eventually they die of old age and their gun-petrified kids and remaining loved ones call the police one day when they find a gun that dad had hidden because they're afraid the thing will start flying around the room and shooting. If dad had enough guns hidden the news will even congratulate the family for doing a great job calling the authorities and having the old guy's arsenal safely disposed of.

I only agree with the first sentence of that. The rest? Well, no one really knows, but I can almost guarantee it'll be up to the gun owners.

The right type of LEO/military I lawfully comply and follow wouldn't try to impose an unconstitutional order. The United States constitution supercedes any potential banana republic crap.

I took an oath. That means something to me.

Our founding fathers were clear what is within our rights and what they expect from us.

They can take what they find when they go door to door. But that will officially mark the beginning of the war, and they all become legitimate enemy targets to be hunted and killed at every opportunity.

You don't let the enemy choose when and where to fight. If you resist the knock on the door that is exactly what you are doing. You choose not to fight there and then, and you choose to be the door kicker when you are prepared and they are not.

This would be a total war, not like anything we've seen. If you can shoot the enemy soldier in his bed while he's sleeping, then you do. You start with the most important ones you can find, and the guys going door to door aren't. You find out who sent them and you kill him. You find out who ordered him to send them in, and we'll, you get the idea.

Mind you, this is mass confiscation and a second civil war were talking about, not just "my cousin Burt with the DV charge had his taken".

The ones that are listed on your permit and recorded in the system when you bought them and filled out the paperwork. Yup, long guns you guys think you can hide are all in a system with your name and address the day they called NICS for your purchase. Be it LGS, or Walmart the agencies know every single purchase you've made:(

They will pick us off one at a time . And they have the time . Everything will be made a felony . That will be the most legal way they can do it . Speed a felony , Have an unlicensed auto in your back yard ... a felony ... And the list will go on and on and on. That will accomplish two things .. Guns are gone and you cannot vote

Not me of course but I know guys that have bought dozens of guns from buddies, friends, dudes and dudettes. Many of these guns have been bought and sold 4,5,6 times over 40 years, all privately with zero paperwork.
I know more than a few guys that have bought handguns while living in other states, from private owners, with no paperwork. Then "forgot" about a few of them when they moved to NYS.
Then you have old guns with no serial numbers that have been bought and sold at gun shows, garage sales and estate sales for 50 years.
Black powder rifles, shotguns and pistols that were never documented and have been bought and sold over and over and over and over in the private market.
And on, and on, and on.......

first, if something like that began to happen , you best place them somewhere off of your property , 2nd , if you choose to fight them on their terms when they are outside your door , you will be a dead fool in a short time. You wont help yourself or the cause by becoming a martyr . You organize a few like minded people and begin from there. Trying to fight what will look like a platoon of marines outside your door , is hopeless . They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands and take everything you had. If you choose to fight you do so on your terms , not theirs, where when and how . They will win round one, but they wont win round 2.round 2 is where they find out that they have a serious problem.

Of course I don't see it happening like that in a major way.I think it will come in the form a letter stating that you need to turn in xxx weapons or you be fined 500 dollars a day for each violation after 30 days. after 60 days a warrant for your arrest will be issued and you will be picked up in your car on the way to work one morning . and while your waiting to see the judge they will take your weapons while your in a cell.
