what did I get today ~~~~ STUPID, that's what I got.

I decided to change the oil in my QD6000 diesel generator on the Escape Pod. How hard can that be LOL Im a dumbass

I should have known this would be a pain-n-the-ass when I had to use a 18" breaker bar to get the drain plug out

next was the absolutely brilliant place they put the oil filter. first the oil filter was only 2½" in diameter. the replacement filter is 3". I was going to use a set of channel locks, but after the drain plug fiasco, I figure they cranked on the filter as well. So off to Advanced auto parts to find a small oil filter wrench ~~~score!. and I was right, I had to whoop on that thing to get it out

next, getting that piece of shit out was a nightmare. after I got it out, putting the new one in was worse. there was very little room, I could barely get my hand in there. I was worried I'd cross thread the stupid thing....

long story short, the good news is I won't have to do this again for a 150 hours. it took us 19 months to put 50 hours on the genset. but now that its changed, I shouldn't have to do this for at least a year....maybe longer

Adding to the hunting accomodations. Got to liking hunting from a blind last year. Rhino see through blind. My small blind got flattened in the snow last winter. Going to reinforce this one and build a platform. The full height see through panels are AWESOME.



Ball joint kit came in as well. I'm a glutton for punishment but hate having people do shit I can do myself. Now I can swear at just about any ball joint on the market.



Looks like Monday is the big day. Long time waiting for this to get here. Hope it's all I'm expecting it to be....

Was hoping to pick up a PSA Dagger frame and another H&R retro lower, this time an A2. But they hadn't checked the lower in yet. So I came home with the Dagger and an impulse buy. I'll get the lower Monday or Tuesday.
So far, the Dagger frame feels way better in the hand than my Glock.

Decided I'm going to stick with trap. My beginner firearm selections were good enough for what I needed at the time. Stepped up to a lifetime tool of choice....



Beretta DT10 circa 2004. I'm told these are basically bulletproof and should expect zero failures during its life. Shot maybe 6 rounds last night and think I'm going to like it.

I have a friend that is heavily into competition trap shoots. His recent shotgun is a single shot. No reason to swing the weight of two barrels he told me.

There are a bunch of clubs that have doubles trap. The one I belong to has two fields with machines capable of throwing doubles.

Finally had a chance to pickup the Sig P250 I bought a while back. Added the Armorycraft flat face metal trigger and the Sig X-Compact grip module. It fits my hand like a glove and with the adjustable trigger there is no pretravel at all to the trigger. Going to a flat face trigger geometry also makes the pull weight feel lighter than it is. It feels like a crisp 5LBS now instead of the original 6LBS. The gun was basically unfired and there is no discernible wear on the magazines, barrel slide or barrel hood. I’m fairly confident that whoever bought it new originally never ever fired it.
