Recently realized I have like 90% of a whole rifle in spare parts in my bench. Just need a handguard and an ambi safety at this point.
Fit and finish on the stainless parts seems well done. Not bad for 48 bucks.

Well not technically acquired today but.....3 free Winchesters...all pre-64. Started working on the 94 (pre-war) already. Repairing stock now which has 2 repairable cracks on one side where it meets the receiver. Ordered an original front sight hood and need a rear sight elevator still. Some deep cleaning, a little BLO, wax and she will be a nice piece of working history.

I got a Frankford Arsenal case trimmer, some aluminum black touch-up, a couple of 1911 magazines, and a full assortment of 10/22 innards to replace those borrowed for another project.

Was going to wait until my 2 MORE mags come in but I'm sure people are tired of seeing me buy mags (so for that I bought 2 Gen 5 G17 mags and will be keeping those as dedicated carry mags and nothing else)
Anyways on to the cool stuff I did get..
2 Ulticlips XL and a new mag carrier.. mag carrier is a Phlster Gen2 Skeleton Universal Magazine Carrier.
Well so far so far these ulticlips are amazing, I'm sold, I'll eventually order another for the mag carrier
Weird little thing I learned after I got the clips in.. I guess the XL can double as a multi tool with a flat head screw driver and a open ended wrench (honestly will never get used but ha fun I guess)
Anyways on to the cool stuff I did get..

I always wondered how well these work, especially since the point is to not use a belt and just clip them right to your pants. So I was wondering how well it actually supports the weight of a fully loaded pistol. I’m always wearing jeans for the most part, so using a normal holster with clips makes sense in that situation. The only time I think I would use the Ulti-Clips is if I happen to be wearing gym shorts or something like that...but I wasn’t sure how well it would support the weight.
So I snagged these up (the XL are designed for use with a belt) because I like the idea of how secure they are and damn are they secure and dont add any bulk, and the XL in a Pinch can be used with no belt which well with my carry gun there will be a belt lmao
Ahhh gotcha. I’ve just seen videos of guys running the regular Ulti-Clips right to their pants (I believe John Lovell is one). The only way I see it working without sagging is if you keep the gun mounted as low as possible in your pants and it would have to be a lightweight smaller single stack, maybeeee a Glock 26. Anything bigger and I just don’t see the Ulti-Clips by themselves working out.
So ok update. I put the clips on today and only had a small amount of time to play around with them before work.
One other reason I liked the idea of these over others. (Specifically the very subpar Fomi clips) is how secure they keep the holster to the belt. Not just side to side movement or anything but the possibility of the holster coming off with the gun during a draw.
But I can say with complete confidence even with like 5 min of having these, there is no way that the holster is coming off the belt unless YOU want it to and put effort into it, ie unlock the clips then fight with the hooks until you finally get it off.. the J portion is much more prominent than most of the plastic J clips out there and so much more than the shitty FOMI clips.
The only other option I suggest would be pull the dot (as on my mag carrier which I also like for the most part) or Descrete Carry Concepts offerings

Yea I've wanted to get a g43 for some time (even the P365 maybe) as a super small deep concealment or I have gym shorts on and running to the store grab gun but dont want my full carry gun type set up (and now that holosun is releasing the 507K that gun concept has once again creeped onto my radar)
But those are usually using the standard size ones which are also nice and can clip to the jeans behind the belt but I went with the XL for the added benefits I mentioned in my above post
Well picked up my Rhino Thursday. Going to go and try it out today. Feels good in my hand and is actually fairly light for it's size. Not really a carry gun but I had some stuff collecting dust I figured I would turn into this and see what all the fuss was about.
