High school teacher put on leave after asking if school would allow a pro-life walkout
A California high school teacher has been placed on leave after she wondered if her school would permit an organized walkout to protest abortion.

According to CBS Sacramento, Rocklin High School’s Julianne Benzel said all she did was have a conversation with her class last Thursday and Friday about the “politics of protest” — a lesson ahead of yesterday’s school walkouts. However, this seems to have angered some students and their parents.

We all know the walkout thing is stupid and accomplishes nothing. And that children who don’t understand what’s going on are being used as political pawns. But if you truly believe that these protests are important and are allowing children to exercise their 1a rights then you have allow walkouts for other causes as well. Pro gun, anti abortion, pro choice, anti war, whatever.

I don’t know what that Cali teachers motive was. If it was just to stir the pot then fuck off. But if that teachers motive was to highlight the hypocrisy of these walkouts then bravo.
