Ukrainian foreign minister Kuleba recently said they don't want Polish troops on their territory. Whether he meant it or not, there is a good reason behind it. For Ukrainian Nationalists annexation of Western Ukraine by Poland is much scarier prospect than loosing pro-Russian East of the country. Western Ukraine is the cradle of Ukrainian Nationalism and their fight for Independence. If it goes back to Poland all of their victories (for the lack of a better word) are reversed.
Historically Poland was much more intolerable of ethnic minorities than Russia. Not saying Russia was perfect, but Poland was much worse. Ukrainians know it.

That may well be true ,but if the Ukrainian army is in shambles they wont have a whole hell of lot to say about it . That works out well for NATO too. Russia may even be good with that if it ends the war the way they want

They couldn't even reach Surovikin defense line. They are lured into abandoned villages in front of Surovikin line where every road is dialed in by Russian artillery. They are going into kill zones just to take a few pictures to show off to Western media. Does anyone in the West care that these people are dying for no reason.

Ukraine is going forward with complete "general mobilization" of all males 18-65 in multiple regions of the country.
US senators are proposing NATO directly gets involved in the war if there are nukes used or radiation leaks from a nuclear power plant.
My take, Ukraine is doing so well that they are needing every male to be conscripted to make up for their attrition. The US knows the real score and how dire things have become not the propaganda being thrown out but how desperate Ukraine is getting so they are now looking for ways to open the door to get direct NATO entrance to supporting Ukraine. This is really really bad news.
All Ukraine has to do is scuttle their power plant sacrifice some of their people(which they seem comfortable doing) and the US senators are willing to get NATO involved.
I'm disgusted with these latest updates. This is terrible news for what the future will bring.

Senators are grandstanding to a decreasing crowd of pro-war imbeciles. Like all wars, this one is becoming less and less popular. How much propaganda mileage can you get from Zelensky's hugs? If Russia fully mobilizes, we are talking about 20-30 million army and nuclear arsenal bigger than NATO's. The word from Moscow (from Lavrov & Putin) is they are ready. Tactical nukes are already being delivered to Belarus.
Huge debate is raging in Russia about first use of nukes. The precedent has been set 78 years ago.

Who *really* stands to gain from a wider war in Ukraine ?
The answer is China. Once they can get the west tied up in Ukraine, they can move on Taiwain with a lot more confidence.
They may be under a time constraint as well. With our current leadership they can probably pull it off.
That could change drastically after the 2024 election though. With properly aggressive leadership we could curb stomp both of them at once.
There might be a coup or some sort of civil unrest taking place in Russia right now

Why, there are more plots and sub-plots than an old Russian novel. They should have numbers on their backs so we can tell who the players are and what team they are on. Rostov is a beautiful city, lots of buildings built in classic Russian architecture, so I hope they do their fighting elsewhere if it comes to that.
