French forgien legion, Polish and British mercenarys are also trapped in the Kursk salient, On Russian soil. Standing orders are to execute any foreign mercenaries. but I believe they will make an exception in this case , If not, they will be become European fertilizer.

The situation in Kursk reached a decision point over the last 24 hours. Ukrainian forces around Sudzha have two roads connecting them to home. The main supply route (1) has been under Russian fire for a while now, and they've been leaning on the secondary route (2).

A Russian attack out of Kurilovka managed to break through to this secondary road. There are reports that Russian troops reached the Ukrainian border, which would mean the road is physically blocked and not just under fire control. The advance has been confirmed by Ukrainian mappers like DeepState.

The AFU either needs to sort itself out to immediately withdraw from Kursk or else counterattack and attempt to unblock the road. They're withdrawing from Malaya Loknya on the northern tip of the salient, but whether this portends a general abandonment of Kursk remains to be seen.

Given the dense Russian fires on the roads out over the past few weeks, Ukrainian withdrawal would likely entail abandoning or losing lots of equipment. Very difficult to imagine them squeezing out of the bottleneck in good order.

They're screwed.

I feel like what is occurring has so many parallels to the WW2 eastern front. It was common for large groups to be fully encircled in a pocket and completely ground down and destroyed. You can't hold out for long without resupply and as your wounded start to accumulate and you lose your combat strength.

In less than a year, 60K Ukrainians have fallen in the Kursk salient. More than We lost in ten years in Vietnam. Thats testament to the brutal fighting that had taken place. A war withen a war. The question now is whether the Ukrainians have enough forces in the region to plug the gap . From what I can tell it seems like a lot of open area and farm lands lacking real good defensive terrain .

So you think the Germans would have won if they brought coats and gloves? what about the second winter? Probably had nothing to do with a nearly 3000 mile front from North to South , Allied bombings in the rear, Partistans cutting supply routes , the threat of invasion .

There is a lot of misinformation and misconceptions about Russian history and also WWII still remaining from the cold war era.
Germany, Poland, Sweden and France also have cold winters, not much different from the winters in the parts of Russia they invaded. None of them came even close to Siberia and its brutal weather.
Another misconception is that Soviet WWII strategy was solely reliant on meat assaults. In fact Russians used a lot deceptive and unprecedented maneuvering, while German assaults were mostly head on. Some of the well known examples are deceptive crossing of Dneper river, operation Saturn, operation Baghration.

Moving 800 men through 9 miles of 5' tall gas pipeline will be something for history books, but they done things like this during WWII and on a bigger scale, appearing where they were not expected, striking a deadly blow.

Its pretty sad, brother against brother, cousin against cousin. Even if they end up losing the war, History will remember them as tenacious brave fighters that bloodied the Russians bears nose. History will remember zelensky as a POS traitor who didnt give a rats ass about his people.

Sooner or later the US intell will start feeding his coordinates to Russian agents , this guy has got to go.

He needs to go. He can't make any concessions, because they could have had a better deal in March of 2022, so hundreds of thousands that died since then, died for nothing. It was his decision. He should have served his nation and his people, not Boris Johnson.

I really think the britts and frogs are the ones steering him into destruction.

There is some seriously messed up diplomacy and "guidance" occurring behind closed doors. They are using Ukrainian blood to fight Russia for them.

Meanwhile there are now stories that Europe is going to be massively increasing their military spending and talking openly about conscription.

Not good at all.

Look at the stock price of Rheinmetal in the past 6 months. Shocking. What does that tell you?
