Thoughts on the SU-16?

I've been thinking about trying to pick up one of Kel-Tec's SU-16's. I think they look sort of cool, and aren't butchered like a compliant AK or AR would be.

What are people's thoughts on them? I know they can be hard to find, but does anyone actually have one and like it?

Id get one witg the 16"...too bad its made by keltec. They have cool designs but iffy on quality control. Id still rock one though

I've always thought they were really neat but for every instance of one guy loving it there is a nightmare story too. I don't think it was designed with high volume shooting in mind, more of lightweight backpack/truck gun. Last time I was in there SPAR Firearms of Harrisburg PA had several of em. They have a lot of Kel Tec stuff there, even several PMRs.

I would handle one before I bought one. I received one as a gift and have yet to shoot it. It feels cheap. I do like the fact that it is compact.

Kinda like the Henry AR7. Cool concept but to keep it backpacker lightweight, quality has to suffer. Still want one though. Idd prefer it over the keltec even if the cals werent the same

I haven't handled one of those but if things went bad, I would be carrying my full size primary weapon for sure. I think ar7 and keltec is a last ditch weapon.

I already have a mini-14, so semi-auto featureless in .223 is already covered, maybe I'll just stick to something potentially less crappy... They're just kind of cool looking
