The "gods chosen people" belief is basically every religion ever. Why do the Christians and Muslims get to believe that, but not the Jews ?

Isreal has never started a war. *never*. Their neighbors start them and get their asses kicked and lose a bit of territory. I'm OK with that.

As for "palestine", the old British territory of that name included Syria, Egypt, and Jordan as well as Isreal. So, I'm all for a 4 state solution where the Isrealis have a small corner.
Isreal would give Gaza back in a heartbeat if Egypt would take it, but they refuse for obvious reasons. Nobody wants to have to try to govern the Palestinians, not even the Palestinians. They were given Gaza free and clear and they *still* wouldn't just build a state.

If they were the chosen people and Jesus is the messiah, then the baton was passed and Christians would be the chosen ones.
I don't know how all this stuff works and don't want to inadvertently dis on anyones beliefs, its' just a thought.

And the Muslims believe that same baton was passed from Jesus to Mohammad.

It's amazing that 3 religions that share 90% of their history can be so opposed to each other.

And the worst are the different flavors of Muslim. They agree on 99.9% of their doctrine, and kill each other constantly over that last 0.1%.

Yea, there's different sects of all of them that disagree on the details.

But, the bottom line is that all of them from all 3 religions believe in the same God, the god of Abraham.

The Jews and Christians mostly gave up killing each other over the details centuries ago. You don't see Baptists killing Catholics like you do the Sunnis and Shias.

The Muslims will get there sooner or later.
