Where to buy AR parts from?

Taking up adult legos and need some parts, or at least need some ideas. All I can think of off the top of my head is Palmetto Armory. Cruised there yesterday, but a lot of their stuff was backordered or out of stock.

Where do you shop? Recommend? Good pricing/selection?

What part of the state is local for you? I always recommend Primary arms for online. First step is buy a lower. Buy cheap they are just a shell and don't matter much.

PrimaryArms.com, they usually restock every Monday. I just ordered 2 more lowers from them and they usually have all the connect-ables in stock.

I use MidwayUSA because they give you 5% off if you have an FFL. And yes, C&R is an FFL. I also use Brownells and CheaperThanDirt if MidwayUSA doesn't have what I want. I also use Amazon and eBay at times.

For my C&R weapons I use Southern Ohio gun and J&G Sales.

I've got a lower and parts kit already, either gonna wait until I am stocked back up to buy more, or just buy little shit here and there, then splurge for the upper/bcg/barrel. Spent more than I want on the lower, but it was a billet piece, they didn't have any blems in stock, and I wanted one before any more bullshit hit the fan and it got harder to find them.

The one thing I can't find anywhere, are the modified/enhanced takedown pins. Can't remember who makes them, but the ones I want have a very large head that makes it easier for removing.

I'm considering making a compliant AR, that's half the reason I want them. The other reason is because I like to take my stuff apart a lot.

I'm a big fan of Joe Bob Outfitters. Their customer service is great, as well. I once placed an order then realized I forgot something, so I called them right up and they added it no problem, and were really nice the whole time.

I've become a fan of Primary Arms. I have to do everything on a way too tigh budget and they've got really good prices. Something I like too, is they keep updated on their stock really well. If it shows In Stock, it's in stock. Should have frequent flier miles from them lol.
I'd like nothing more than to buy from one of ours here but I'm saving pennies as it is to buy what I need.
I'm skimping so much, instead of buying the Franklin Armory mag to go the fixed mag route I'm modifying a P-Mag to do the same thing

Yeah, something like that. I actually found the ones I was looking for in stock locally, so I need to jump on those and get them. When NF and I get back from Colorado and I pay down the bill from this trip, I'm gonna get back into resuming this build.

Primary also labels their packages with a simple "PA" , if that matters to you. I've shipped orders to my work with no one the wiser. A warehouse guy actually did open one of them accidentally, but he's one of us, so not a problem!

P.S.A you need to sign up for their email and they will send you emails with whats in stock and on sale. They come in a unmarked box too. It's like everything is out of stock and then every week they decide what they are gonna build and put that "on sale". (Who knows if it's really on sale- I find that's more just the price) but their products are solid and prices are always good. I received an upper from them. That's really nice. Not as nice as my colt but still very nice for the price I paid.
Cheaper than dirt- I try to stay away from because they price gouge like a mother$^#@&% during gun scares. They were selling ar mags for over $60 each after the sandy hook tragedy. (Not that I agree with price gouging being illegal. It's just simply economics... supply and demand.) Anyways it should be called more expensive than gold.
AIMsurplus has very good prices and products but they have a problem with new york. They have their own "policies" that are even stricter than the NY safe act. They won't send certain products that are 100% legal even under the strick nysafe act here. Kind of annoying- LAMEsurplus. I hate when companies make policies that go above the New York laws. (Like walmart won't sell pistol ammo without a pistol permit- even though I have rifles and carbines that shoot 9mm and .40) anyways, I digress.
Also two good places to find deals on parts is AMAZON & EBAY! I think they both have policies saying no black evil firearm parts but people sneak them on there all the time. I got a nice Ambi charging handle off ebay, half the price of what others like it, that hasn't failed me yet. I've gotten some AR500 steel targets for really cheap on amazon. I've bought a vortex scope off amazon in the past. Also the have magpul and caa buttstock for really good prices.
Hope this helps. Everyone says good things about primary arms but I've never used them so I can't say. Same with brownells. Never used them- their prices are always so high.

I like the under the radar packaging, that's a good idea. I do sometimes ship to myself at work, so that's a good thing for them to do.
