I agree in principle, But you have to consider the after effects. We wont be a global super power , We wont call the shots, Our economy and trade will suffer and we will be falling in line with the new superpowers . I dont think there is anyway that the US defends Taiwan other than arms and maybe some spec ops advisors. There would be an immediate halt of trade with China that would crush us .
If given the proper arms, I think Taiwan could embarrass China , But right now they are relying on the US , and that aint gonna happen.

The seafloor ocean observatory off the coast of northern Norway can detect submarine traffic, which could make it a prime target for the Russians.
BY THOMAS NEWDICK NOVEMBER 11, 2021Undersea sensors off the coast of northern Norway that are able to collect data about passing submarines, among other things, have been knocked out, the country’s state-operated Institute of Marine Research, or IMR, has revealed. The cause of the damage is unknown, but the cables linking the sensor nodes to control stations ashore are said to have been cut and then disappeared. This has raised suspicions about deliberate sabotage, possibly carried out by the Russian government, which definitely has the means to do so.
“We are now seeing Russian underwater activity in the vicinity of undersea cables that I don’t believe we have ever seen,” U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Andrew Lennon, then serving as NATO’s top submarine officer, told The Washington Post in December 2017. “Russia is clearly taking an interest in NATO and NATO nations’ undersea infrastructure.”

Once the US is out of the picture, its going to get sporty in other places.
Heck yea. Once the petty dictators and anyone with visions of conquest no longer has to be concerned with us the world will suddenly become much more unstable with more regional conflicts.
I'm not saying it's our place to get involved but the reality is that a strong US brings stability to the world. Whether we get involved or not is irrelevant, it's that we "can" get involved and that's what keeps all these assholes in line. I actually don't want us involved in everyone's fights but I recognize that it has advantages to be globally feared and respected.
Once we are no longer recognized as the global super power, which will in turn lead to us losing our preferred advantageous status as global reserve currency we are screwed. Shit will get real.

Mankind and especially Europe have been warring since the first tribe of cavemen stole a goat from another tribe of cavemen. This created tibalism and somewhere along the line, one man realized that most people are basically stupid and easily manipulated. Once they tasted this power, they started leading them like sheep and created tribes, chiefdoms, potentiates, kingdoms, democracies, and republics culminating in community ism. Where all are equal but some are more equal than others.
Unfortunately, after WWI there was a pause and reset called the League of Nations, where we thought progressive ideals could end all war. This created borders that are still being fought over today. We are in effect still fighting WWI.
WWII was WWI redux and it ain't over yet.
The sides and allegiances have changed but the war continues.
Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times. Hard times create hard men. Hard men create good times. We are in the weak men cycle of this cycle.

This continued up until after bailing them out twice, the US pointed Nukes at them and said "enough".
I know there was never any love lost between Poland and Ukraine. Ukraine has been fighting someone including Russia before and up to the end of the USSR. Although most of America doesn't know it, they are fighting Russia as we speak in WWI TYPE TRENCHES.
The USSR was various counties made into "states" of the USSR and since the collapse, some of these "states" began fighting with each other. Kind of like the US In the 1800's.
Either way, I have total faith in Brandon. Total faith that he will muck it up.

I find the pre WW2 parallels to current day geopolitics totally fascinating. It's eeriely similar and I am wondering if in fact we really ever actually stopped fighting WW2.
It's like everything old is new again only some of the alliances have changed.

I have complete confidence that Biden will handle Vladimir Putin and use all the military assets that he didn't leave behind in Afghanistan to keep America safe. 
I understand what you mean but I disagree. Russia has no designs on world conquest like Hitler did. There moves are in a sense defensive in nature. Not that Ukraine is going to attack them.
Russia is a dying state - literally. Their population is declining. The number of military age males (or females) will be declining precipitously over the next decade or two. The east European terrain is mostly flat and difficult to defend.
An author named Peter Zeihan has written about this a number of times. He expects the Russians to make military moves against a number of their neighbors in an attempt to make their borders more secure in the future when they won't have the manpower they do now. It's a fascinating theory.
I feel sorry for the nations that border Russia. The next few years are not going to be pleasant. But for us to go to war over Ukraine is madness.

Russia is Europe's problem. It's also seems suicidal that Europe depends on Russia for their gas. WTF are they thinking.
