Not our place IMO. I'm sick of footing the bill to be the world police.
Well, we wont have to worry about that much longer. Especially if, Or should I say when , China takes Taiwan.

I agree let Ukraine and Taiwan do something about it.
Unfortunately that sort aren’t the ones that will be called upon to fight when and if the need arises. It wasn't then and isn't now.
Good times make soft men. I'm OK with some extinction, lest we have more of this

It is absurd to spend in a war more than what total independence from those markets will cost and that wo counting the human lives and suffering.I agree in principle, But you have to consider the after effects. We wont be a global super power ,
Or maybe we can fix it like we fixed Afghanistan?I'm sure that will work out fine.
Poland should have dealt with the Austrian with the funny mustache all by themselves too.
I'll take Afghanistan over WWII any day.Or maybe we can fix it like we fixed Afghanistan?

Do something to be stronger from within vs leading the way in 40 years failed policies.
The US got its strength from remaining independent from all the turmoils of the world until ww2 pushed the nation into being the military industrial complex it os today.
Once the US is out of the picture, its going to get sporty in other places.
A weak America will do that.Things are definitely heating up around the world.
A weak America will do that.
Imagine what will happen if we really withdraw.
When the economic winds die down, the winds of war are stirred.Feel that breeze? The winds of war are stirring?
I expect both: Putin know Biden's a sock puppet, now he might be fearful of who is controlling Bribe'n as that remains to be seen.Is Russia taking advantage of the weakness of the biden administration or is the biden administration trying desperately to get people to change the subject from just how god-awful of a mess they have made?
No, the wars would have happened, the wrong people would have won is all.Without Russ, Europe would be a province of Greater Mongolia. Without U.S. there would be a dozen or so less wars.
Who said that? Some Ottoman apologist?Without Russ, Europe would be a province of Greater Mongolia. Without U.S. there would be a dozen or so less wars.
China is tanking badly. When the economic winds die down, the winds of war are stirred.
Is Ukraine worth the trouble of going to war over?
Will Brandon be the new "Peace in Our Time" world leader?
Somehow I think this is a redux of Hitler annexing Czechoslovakia and Austria and we know how that turned out.
European Countries have been fighting with each other since the first caveman in the Caucuses stole another caveman's goat.
This continued up until after bailing them out twice, the US pointed Nukes at them and said "enough".
I know there was never any love lost between Poland and Ukraine. Ukraine has been fighting someone including Russia before and up to the end of the USSR. Although most of America doesn't know it, they are fighting Russia as we speak in WWI TYPE TRENCHES.
The USSR was various counties made into "states" of the USSR and since the collapse, some of these "states" began fighting with each other. Kind of like the US In the 1800's.
Either way, I have total faith in Brandon. Total faith that he will muck it up.
Remember: When you see the big bright flash, bend over, grab your ankles and kiss your ass goodbye.
I understand what you mean but I disagree. Russia has no designs on world conquest like Hitler did. There moves are in a sense defensive in nature. Not that Ukraine is going to attack them.I find the pre WW2 parallels to current day geopolitics totally fascinating. It's eeriely similar and I am wondering if in fact we really ever actually stopped fighting WW2.
It's like everything old is new again only some of the alliances have changed.

Russia is a dying state - literally. Their population is declining. The number of military age males (or females) will be declining precipitously over the next decade or two. The east European terrain is mostly flat and difficult to defend.
An author named Peter Zeihan has written about this a number of times. He expects the Russians to make military moves against a number of their neighbors in an attempt to make their borders more secure in the future when they won't have the manpower they do now. It's a fascinating theory.
I feel sorry for the nations that border Russia. The next few years are not going to be pleasant. But for us to go to war over Ukraine is madness.

I also agree Russia isn't seeking global domination. They just want to be the biggest kid in their sandbox.
Russia is Europe's problem. It's also seems suicidal that Europe depends on Russia for their gas. WTF are they thinking.
China however IMO is seeking global supremacy. They want to replace us as the global super power.
