Russian foreign minister Lavrov and Putin's aid Ushakov are scheduled to fly to Saudi Arabia today for the first round of talks with their American counterparts.
Sure, try to double cross Trump. I'm sure that will go well.Trump is being played here, The Russians have no intention of making a deal unless its on the most favorable grounds to them and meeting their goals. The British are already talking about sending in peace keeping troops which is what The Russians didnt want to begin with So thats not going to help . The Russians will stall, agree, reject, agree stall reject until they are on the Dnipro river. Unless they are willing to launch nukes on Russia and start WW3 , the Russsians are going to dictate how it goes when it goes period.
The French Germans and the Ukrainians have all failed , and the Brits will be next to fail if they start getting froggy , the Russians have 700,000 troops in Ukraine and 1 million in reserve in anticipation of a NATO conflict. Just call it a day.
Played? I doubt it. But it is the beginning of getting to the right place. What real attempts have been done since sitting still and allowing it to take place? “Don’t” worked really well I think. Knowing what one side expects and is willing to do is 50%. I understand Zalinski’s anxiety as well, but I’m guessing the both sitting across from each other right now may be a bad move. Step one, Boss to boss discussion. Step two, the other Boss to Boss discussion. There in begins a dialog. The bodies are stacked already. THAT isn’t working. Noone is making progress. In fact, Russia is having to borrow bodies. A lot of other folks are giving weapons they have trouble replacing. Only a couple small players and one big one benefits from that. The loss of accountability of money and weapons is huge right now. I’m all for coming to a resolution.Trump is being played here, The Russians have no intention of making a deal unless its on the most favorable grounds to them and meeting their goals. The bottom line is that the US is completely in charge here.Played? I doubt it. But it is the beginning of getting to the right place. no double cross, just dragged on negotiationsSure, try to double cross Trump. I'm sure that will go well.
The bottom line is that the US is completely in charge here.
We will decide how this ends.
If we cut off Zelensky, then Putin can roll over him sooner or later.
If we decide Putin is done, then he's done.
If we decide to roll him back to the 2014 borders, then we'll roll up the Russian war machine like a cheap rug.
Trump is a smart businessman, he is talking to both sides to determine what is the optimal course of action *for us*.

And you don't think Trump has seen that game 1000 times before ?no double cross, just dragged on negotiations
LoL @ WWIII.lol, what are you drinking, We arnt going to fight WW3 for Ukraine. Its not even an option right now.
In charge; able to direct. Having a strong, proactive group is a plus now. Non-existent got us here. As I said, real discussion is the beginning. The bottom line is that the US is completely in charge here.

Ukrainian military is on its last leg. Russia paid a heavy price and will not be cheated out of its victory.
Still, if the end result is a peace deal it's a political victory for Trump whenever it happens. He can claim he had stopped the biggest and most costly war in Europe since WWII.
One would be hard pressed to find a more deserving candidate for Nobel Peace Prize.
It would look like a global nuclear war . First off Russia has more nukes than we do. They can devastate the entire country withen hours. #2 We are a air and maritime power, not a major land power. While it may be true we have a better trained army , Its difficult to replace the losses of highly trained experienced people . #3 the logistical problems are enormous. feeding an army would require 1-2 million meals a day , just for example. #4 The Chinese are not going to be real keen on the Idea of Nato on their border either. They would be forced to send troops to help stop the invaders, #5 nobody in thier right mind would start WW3 over Ukraine. its ridiculous on its face, Its not even an option , nobody is going to do itLoL @ WWIII.
Who the fuck is going to fight on Russia's side ?
This would look more like Desert Storm than a world war. It would be a complete one sided ass whooping.
I do not think so. Trump and Putin are pals, they see things very much the same as each other.
I am almost positive all this has been discussed between the two of them. They will both come out of these peace deals looking strong and bold.
China would send troops alright. It would look like a global nuclear war . First off Russia has more nukes than we do. You do know they have nuclear capable subs off our coast right now right? Even one would cripple the US , so even if you dont get em all in one shot , game over. same for land based missles , they have thousands of them , trying to knock them out in one strike is a bit ambitiousChina would send troops alright.
Right into Russia to grab as much territory as they could while the getting was good.
Russia *may* have more warheads, but they do not have effective working delivery mechanisms for more than a few hundred of them.
I would expect any war would start with conventional strikes disabling their ICBMs and their submarines would be sunk before they got word there *was* a war.
I don't think I need to explain why attempting to use bombers against NATO would be an utter failure.
This isn't the 1980s. Russia doesn't have a credible second strike capability anymore.
And I think you'll find that the US military is *by far* the most powerful land warfare machine in all of human history, and we absolutely have the logistics to support that invasion.
But, we wouldn't need it. Ukraine has fought Russia to a standstill for *years* with little more than hand me down scraps from NATO. With NATO air support they could walk into Moscow without any assistance.
The Russian subs would be sunk within minutes of the order being given by the white house. You do know they have nuclear capable subs off our coast right now right? You assume NATO air superiority on day one, thats not how its going to work , The russians have the best anti air missiles in the world bar none. they had to put their time money and scientists into it because even the Russians knew they didnt have the numbers to beat the west and had to compensate, The russian airforce wont come out and fight as you expect it would, they will stay behind a wall of air defense systems and strikes from there. it took a month to degrade the Iraqi air defense , it would take far longer with Russia
Im not sure your aware of the long range anti ship capability of the Russians , Logistics is not a for gone conclusion, This isnt Iraq, where we had a 6 month build up with no interference.
Let me say this, unit to unit The Americans outclass the Russians , as did the French German and Ukrainian army's the Russians have the home field advantage of short supply lines . There are limitations on our capabilities you know.
Western Europe pretending they're really part of NATO is like groupies pretending they're part of the band. The europeans will probably bitch and complain if any peace deal is made. However, there's not a thing they can do about it and its their own damn fault. The only weapon they have is the hot air coming out of their politician's mouths.
