It just said it was issued with Hunting and Target restrictions. I would love for someone to scan their letter that explains to the permit holder that although their permit is restricted to hunting and target that they must carry it concealed when going to and from the Range or Hunting. I have...
How so? My wife got her permit and there was no mention of the requirements of her restrictions on what she can do and can't do. She learned about what she could do and could not do at the gun shop permit class. Also I am at the gun shop 3-4 x a week and have witnessed this first hand so not...
"Having a permit and not knowing what your responsibilities are, is just plain stupid.
People can and do just about everything and then when they make a STUPID mistake; they want sympathy...someone to love and give a warm fuzzy"
I agree people should know their responsibilities. However in...
Interesting. Here in Capitol Region they put the restrictions on the permit holder such as Target and Hunting and provide no other information. That is an administrative restriction. The LGS's explain to the permit holders that they must not leave their Pistols in their vehicles no matter what...
Also what about the restrictions that say hunting and target on his permit. 99% of the people that have that walk into the gun shop and have left their pistol in their vehicle because they believe they can't carry it on them. Even though it is a conceal carry permit. Who is to say that he...
After you get down all the basics what is your trigger pull weight on that gun? A proper trigger AFTER you practice the basics with the right ammo makes a world of difference. So does the scope and it's proper mounting.
I went through this as well. I have a house in Florida and in NY. I also use to have my FFL/SOT in Florida but not in NY. The closest to NY I would get too would be PA with my Class III stuff.
Virtually every semi automatic or any rifle can have those features using tools just like every semi automatic can be altered to have a fixed magazine.
So how do you interpret? So you are saying that has the ability to accept a Grande Launcher isn't what it says?
If so then what do all these features mean?
If you don't have a military characteristic of a Pistol Grip then it doesn't have the ability to accept one?
Or do you mean just because...
Apparently there is no constitutional right to bear arms in NY either.
There are speed limits set up on the lakes. You also must take a course to operate a jet ski in NY It was a hypothetical question. It was merely about using tools and parts to comply with being legal. They can be removed...
This can absolutely be converted to a detachable magazine. And this guy can do that My Guns Firearms Manufacturing - Talent, OR
It's just like when I dealt with class 3 weapons. There were rewelds etc. Receivers were cut up with saws and torches. They were then rewelded back together.
Now mind...
Because I want it known that I was doing everything to comply with the law even though I don't agree with it.
Rumor has it that NYSP visited the DDranch and rumor has it epoxy was allowed. Again we all know that is not in writing.
So then if something is Fixed then it doesn't have the ability to accept. We have been through this ad nauseum

That sounds right. Hence why I have epoxy over the set screw and also use the FC hook. Which requires a tool as well. So if you drilled out the set screw after drilling out the epoxy you still can't press the button with the FC hook. You would need another tool for the FC hook
It is clearly and undeniably a fixed mag ar. The issue Willjr has is that even though it is undeniably a fixed mag that you can still with tools convert it back to have the ability to accept a detachable magazine. Hence why I posted that example of a Jet Ski.
Well I have two fixed mag AR's. Both have the FC hook on the catch side and the Prince 50 epoxied on the other side. I didn't think the FC hook was good enough by itself so I did the Prince 50 and epoxy with it. Having said that I would have no issues using the prince 50 with epoxy. And of...
My thoughts are you are showing intent to comply with a law that is vague with either example and the only way to have the ability to accept a detachable magazine or to speed over 65mph is to use tools to remove the device to show intent now was not to comply. But hey only my father and sister...
For sake of argument
Lets say in NYS your Jet Ski can not speed over 65mph and has a governor installed on it from the dealer to prevent it from going over 65mph.
The NYS Law states "if your Jet Ski have the ability to go over 65mph then your Jet Ski is illegal"
So now you import a Jet Ski...
