“A written...”
Yeah ok. We’ve talked about this a million times. So instead of quietly not enforcing it, you expect a cop to lose his job by putting it on paper, only to be replaced with someone who will gleefully do whatever the left says. Stupid. Again.
Anyone policing at all right now is damned fool. Last night, we let the protestors walk against traffic over the Williamsburg Bridge. Didn’t bother confronting them at all.
Huge difference between “unsubstantiated” and “unfounded” on my job. “Unsubstantiated” complaints - which typically are the ones where some animal falsely reports something then refuses to participate in the investigation, stick with the cop for the remainder of their career.
People should be...
...and I’m gonna get more overtime because of it.
I’m finally home enjoying my first day off in June, but I spoke to one of my cops who is working. All plans to stop the overtime are on hold because of Atlanta.
Fucking A. Fucking A-tlanta.
Total idiots.
I’m not lying, I might get a “GF” tattoo. I really cannot describe what this has done for me. I hadn’t done 100 hours of OT in the past 3 years COMBINED!
Well, my day off overtime tour has been extended because of what’s happening in Atlanta. So more money for me and my pension. Thanks Mr. Brooks for resisting arrest!
I mean do you really have to ask? Ignore him. It’s retardedness.
If you want examples of probable cause, give me scenarios. I’m bored in a van on overtime again in Brooklyn.
Today’s incident is a great example of establishing probable cause fwiw.
Woman was reporting that her ex opened a credit card in her name and ran it up. Normally this is a hard scenario to establish a perp for initially. The cop was putting the boyfriend down as a suspect and I asked why. He...
No offense, I get your point, but poor example.
The facts in this scenario would be investigated long before the trial. He’d certainly be cuffed, but not arrested/charged until more could be established.
@spat
We already have reams of court precedent and law which establish probable cause. Why would that suddenly need to be redefined?
I actually discussed probable cause on an ID theft case as I was walking out the door today to go to the protest detail while only half listening to the story...
Read will’s original post. He at least sure seems to believe that legalizing drugs will stop most crimes.
I can assure you that cartels and dealers aren’t the bulk of the perps resulting from the drug trade. For every “cartel member” there’s probably 10 distributors. For every distributor...
God I hate doing this....
How does legalizing all drugs create this utopia where drug users (which there will be a lot more of) stop committing crimes to get the money to buy their drugs?
Whether the users have to pay illicit dealers or legal dispensaries, their fucked up lives still don’t...
^ this is exactly the problem. Can’t show cops in a good light, especially actual live reality which contradicts The Agenda. They only want youtube feeds like Will’s.
I’ve made the decision that I will not use any force for anything other than defense of myself or another cop from now until I retire.
I will not use any force - not matter how justified - to effect an arrest. I don’t care if I’m on camera, if someone does not want to be arrested I will not...
This is why I am leaving. It doesn't matter if you are a "good cop" or a "bad cop" anymore. All it takes is a creative camera angle and everything I have worked for my whole adult life is done. My livelihood, my pension, my kids lose their dad, DONE.
Remember Michael Brown... cop was 100%...
Cops are prosecuted for filing false reports/lying/perjury every single time it's caught. There's no leeway on that one. Hell in the Bronx, that's pretty much the only crime they prosecute besides homicides.
One of the biggest complaints cops have is that people can lie about us all they want...
I honestly don’t care. I don’t plan on doing any police work between now and March. And if my next pension statement, reflecting all the BLM O/T, comes in hot, I may retire before the summer is up.
I truly feel bad for people like you @GOPerfect who can’t retire yet. I have 3 awesome cops under...
They need to whitewash anything that shows the truth about day-to-day policing. Only the rare horrible encounters are approved viewing for the masses to aid with further indoctrination.
I have to say, I’m mostly in agreement with goperfect.
I could break down each and every point, support some, oppose others, but it would be pointless.
The fact of the matter is that the loudest voices in society right now, the only ones allowed to speak without retribution, HATE the police...
A big protest took over the Brooklyn Bridge while I was there. The best part was all the people yelling at us to put on mask lol. I’m going on 78 hours of OT since last Monday and probably have 3 more hours here tonight at least. That’s all that matters.
I’m going to remain a member of my range here too. NJ ranges are ridiculously expensive. My cousins pays over a grand a year for his and he’s the damn president!
What really makes it worthwhile for me is the hunting and ocean. The places I am looking at are 30 min max from good hunting, mostly...
Probably NJ at first then PA eventually. I’m divorced so I need to stay close to the kids for a bit longer.
Not ideal, but NJ is awesome for bowhunting and I’ll be right by the beach for my second favorite pastime: jet skiing!
As awesome as it sounds (and hopefully will be), I wanted to do about 8 more years. Can't see that happening now and the wife is DONE with NYC so it's time to go.
Spent the last hour with my boss outlining my retirement plans. Since I fill a fairly important role in the precinct I wanted to work out a plan that is best for all of us, allowing me to run off all my built up time (nearly 100 days) and still train my replacement adequately. I'm going to start...
None of that has been confirmed yet.
Mass retirements are a given. Every single person I know who is nearing or at retirement time is leaving.
March 30 is my date.
