My AR has brass colored dings all over the deflector, it seems normal.

Hmm, maybe I just had some bad batches of Tula.

A quick search seems to say that it's made in the same Tula factory, but I think there are a few versions of it, maybe it's better, idk. I've had good luck with MFS (Hungarian) and Red Army Standard (Ukrainian/Romanian) so far.

All the other regular cheap stuff I've used has worked well. Maybe I was just unlucky but TulAmmo has malfed on me a few different ways in less than 1000 rounds and seemed noticeably dirtier, whereas other brands have been totally fine.

A beauty! I love my SKS. (Word of advice: stay away from TulAmmo, that stuff is dirty and unreliable in my experience)

Good day at the range, great weather! Got to shoot the April challenge, and was finally getting some more satisfying groups from the AR.

I tried to do the 25 yard with an SKS, but the bottles start to blend together with iron sights at 25 yards. Also, it's a pretty heavy rifle for offhand precision, lol.

Ok, great. With that scoring I also count a 55. Yay! I'm happy with that score!

Yeah it would be carbine length. I guess I would look at Magpul, Midwest Industries, and Troy if I were you. They're all good brands. You would be looking for the "drop-in handguards".

Also I forgot to ask if you're using a front sight block or not. That'll change your options.

I went with an ALG M-lok rail, which you can install easily with their torque wrench. Also Aero Precision's handguards are priced very competitively.

There's a T-shirt factory down the street from me. Maybe I should tell them to whip me up a batch, lol.
