Plans for three more shooting bays are in the works, but measurements need to be checked to make sure that there's enough space to fit them and
a buffer safety zone between the rifle range.
Either way, two or three more bays will be a welcomed addition and make the club better suited to host...
Dropped two more last night/this morning.
First female at the farm on the first set of the night and a friend dropped a small male on the first set at a preserve.
Do you hunt from a tree stand, ground blind or still hunt ?
While it's great practicing off hand, you should always look for a rest to make the most accurate shot.
Deer don't always play by the rules and offer a kill shot right away and you'll find that that Mdl 629 will get very heavy if you...
The school district probably would've given him a commendation if they found out that he helped the students load the weapons before a mass shooting !
This is just another example of the "Woke" leadership ruining our country and to think these imbeciles are in charge of teaching and the safety...
My friend that I've been showing the ropes too finally dropped one 3/6 Pm.
Took awhile for him to let them come in close enough to kill one.
This is the lone male we called the yapper, as after my friend missed it two separate times, it would sit in the next field over and yap at us.
We set up...
The Russian troop escalation went on for months and the invasion timeline was given, yet nothing was done to avoid it and now everyone's asking questions ?
A little to late to point fingers now and civilians in the region knew what was coming, so if they didn't leave when they had the chance...
I'll be heading up to the farms to hunt tomorrow PM after visiting my cousin.
Farmers said the calves are dropping and the coyote are prowling.
They've seen a couple during daylight hours.
Got a lot of coyote action on the trail cams and even had a friend shoot one yesterday night by a bait pile...
With a layer of fresh snow, I'm planning on going out tonight to a few locations that have recent coyote activity on the bait pile cell cams.
After dropping my rifle and missing shots at 50 yards in two stands, I called the last hunt early, being I didn't have a backup rig available to keep...
You need to get those farmers making trails to and around your stands with their tractors.
The coyote will be walking the same trails, right into your lap.
I'm more worried about breaking my ass slipping on ice, but I'm going to give it a go tonight, if I don't get called for work.
Next weekend...
Been shooting poly coated bullets since they came out.
I'd say I've gone through at least 30,000 when I was shooting shooting comps with 38 spcl, 9mm, 40 cals.
I plink with Acme 350 grn 500 S&W poly bullets.
Blue, acme, egg, missouri, sns, DG .......
Have had no issues with either brand using...
Went out last night a little later at the new farm.
Saw a dog at a bait pile as we were heading in, but couldn't get a shot at it.
Snow was crunchy as corn flakes.
My protégé said he saw another dog as we were cleaning up to head out, but I didn't see it at all.
Haven't heard any type of calling...
Went out Friday PM, Sat at dusk and Sunday at a different location near a pheasant preserve in orange county.
Friday PM was brutal, -20+ below temps with the wind chill and I only lasted about three hours, thanks to the heat in the ranger between stands.
Nothing seen or heard but some deer.
Sat...
I swapped batteries in the remote after the first set and no difference.
Call battery was charged before heading out.
I have two fully charged call batteries (with the newest charger) and a new pack of fresh Duracell's for the remote.
This weekends cold temps will be a test of my equipment and...
My Call has never shut off, just no control with the remote at ranges over 30 yards the last time out.
When I tested it earlier in the year, it worked at 100 yards, with a slight pause.
I also reprogrammed the call to not repeat the calling sequence.
Maybe the cold weather had something to do...
Been a member for over 20 years and have family that are life members.
Very Family orientated and Blue collar Club.
Shoot 5 Stand, Trap, Steel challenge Pistol + Rifle, Rifle, Muzzle loader and Bow.
Land that's owned by the club, not leased, to pheasant + deer hunt and also as a Pheasant...
I have a new/old semi auto .243.
Just waiting on the return of the improved trigger assy and then you won't be the only one here complaining about stove pipes and running out of ammo !!!!!
The first shot hit some unseen branches.
When we went looking for blood, the spot was so thick with small...
Set up in a different location at the new farm yesterday pm.
Called for awhile and didn't see or hear anything.
Was making the decision to pack up and head to another location, when I spotted a lone yote perusing around the stand location we hunted last weekend.
I don't hunt the same stand...
I don't watch coyote, I kill coyote, especially coyote that prey on calves.
Started my new year doing over watch on a new dairy farm.
Didn't even have to call this one in.
https://rumble.com/vrtyix-1222-coyote.html
I wanted to start out 2022 better than 2021.
After a lengthy search, I found a safe queen Rem 7400 .243 semi auto to add to the stable.
I didn't want to build a neutered AR10 chambered in 243, so this was the next best SAFE act legal semi auto choice for me.
I picked it up this afternoon...
Were you using the PIP when taking the longer shots ?
I hate when that happens, but at least it was just a fox.
By the looks of your video, it was a very humid night.
The super hogster had no issues, just the guy pulling the trigger ! ;)
Just thinking out loud, but maybe you should stick to...
Pearl vision or eye surgery ?
Unless you retired in your early years, the eyes are the first thing to go and no matter what amount spent or type of rifle you buy, it's useless unless you can see the target clearly.
I was known as eagles eyes and now at 53, I'm more like crow eyes !
I still have...
I think I see an Iray thermal scope in your 2022 future !
What your seeing on video, doesn't even come close to what you'll be seeing in the display.
I thought my XP38 had a great image and when looking at videos of the XG50 on line, I didn't think the XG looked much better, especially for the...
My 40grn 20 cal load has never disappointed me, but I usually keep my shots within 100 yards.
I've never tried the lighter weight projos, as I was told that the 1-11 twist was made for 36-40 grain pills.
After load testing, I don't think I could possibly get anything more accurate, so I bought a...
I like QD mounts, preferably from American defense.
The Iray mount design, just like the factory pulsar trail mount, don't work well for all types of firearm platforms.
Another reason why I went with a tube type thermal over the box type, more mounting options.
I switch firearm types depending...
I love my 20 practical and like you, reload to get the most out of it.
I use H4198, as I like to use the heavier projectiles.
I was able to push a 40gr Vmax and NBT fast enough to disintegrate about 10 ft from the muzzle.
With plenty of room in the case for more speed, I'm all set if someone...
Why, because 3" is more gooder than 2-3/4", ask any woman !
All that aside, it's just another sales gimmick for Benelli.
My 28's state 2-3/4" or shorter, None 3" and I don't plan on getting a 3" 28 anytime soon.
Sometimes you need to change tactics and go after them.
Of course, you need to make sure it's coyote, not another hunter calling back to you !
I've done it many times with success.
Pack lite, use pack calls, mimicking a pack on the move, scanning with the thermal the whole time.
It really gets...
And was Trump or Biden stupid for not wanting to go to war, knowing it was a meat grinder, with most of the youth spitting on soldiers, calling them baby killers and rioting in the streets ?
Jealousy is just sign that you really love the person.
Embrace trump and live in peace. :salute:
You did nature and that animal a service in taking it out.
What type of deer call ?
I've tried deer calls and never had any success, but I also don't hunt coyote during the day.
Got another one Sun PM during a snow squall.
Very heavy cover in the area added to the bad visibility, but I was able to see my target with the XG50.
The bait pile was hit the night before, so I made it a priority to make a visit before heading downstate after my friends birthday party.
