Yeah it was weird. They issued my permit and added it without a ffl. I’m sure they did a background check at some point. Felt odd picking up handguns from the sheriff and walking out!

When my grandfather died the sheriffs office took his handguns until I got my permit in NY. No ffl needed in my case.
