F this. I hereby call out Will to an IDPA match (or shooting contest of his choice) somewhere equal distance from where we live. I will use a Sig 239 (8+1) and will easily best him.

You said this: " In a defensive situation, a single action trigger will gain you no benefit from the lighter and smoother break."
Are you saying most will not be more accurate with a lighter, smoother trigger? Would one not want the most accuracy possible in the hostage situation you have...
You really are a funny guy at times. Didn't you say shotguns are not a good choice due to a potential hostage situation where a head shot might be needed? So in that case you need accuracy but it's not important with a handgun? I guess you can just hope for the best if a handgun is used. I...
Somehow between cranking it to this pic and being on the forum 20 hours a day will finds time to train like a special forces operator. He can tap rack bang faster than you can pull a trigger again. He can even do it one handed thus negating another second strike advantage.
That's your opinion. Every hear of double strike capability? Riding a hammer when holstering (aiwb)? The option to shoot single action (better than any glock trigger)?
They don't penetrate nearly as much as hardcast. They are light for caliber and recoil less. They penetrate hard barriers and continue on about the same path. I'm talking about the defenders, not the penetrators.
I think some of these pistols would do better skipping the element test and going right to the gauntlet. The lube could be about gone after the element tests.
There was also a guy who shot a hog in the shoulder with the penetrator that went through multiple blocks. It went 9 inches in the hog. Gel is not a realistic test medium. The bullet in the video behaves more like a hardcast than a fmj.
10 is 10 in NY. Some also find the recoil of a .45 less snappy than the .40. Some of the 165 .45 are penetrating 16 inches or so. not the powerball of course.
Same in Johnson City when I was there. The gun room was floor to ceiling (high ceiling) with guns that were not selling. And they still kept prices insanely high.
In my opinion a carry gun should be clean. In a holster or a pocket they get lint and crud in them. Will they still function? Most likely yes. But why take the chance? Some of you former military guys are disappointing your drill instructors/sergeants by carrying dirty!
Beat me to it! I have one and like it very much. It's held up fine so far (about 500 9mm down the pipe). It also adds very little weight and no length.
Most any "expert" will tell you a mounted light is a huge advantage on a HD gun. They also say you should have a handheld as well. You mention the what if's (frying pans, hostage situations ect.) from time to time. What if you injured your light hand? What if you had to use a hand to hold a...
I just bought a police trade in 870 police magnum. It's a newer one and appears to have been shot very little. I like it very much. Has express sites. That or a 590a1 are about the best pump guns in my opinion. You should be good with either of them if you are looking to get a new shotgun.
There are plenty of lighter striker fired pistols (without the grip safety). This is a smart move to target the hammer fired fans. There are not many small light hammer fired 9mm's.
