Not really... Have you ever shot a deer with a pistol? Many use hunting hollow points. Some even used old self defense hp's (I disagree with using them). Hardcast not needed for deer and many other animals. Dangerous game protection sure. The barnes are nice because they are mild in recoil but...
The correct HP in the correct caliber will penetrate enough and make a bigger wound that bleeds more. If I see a guide in Grizzly country with a 9mm I'm leaving!
One should not be overly impressed by the propensity for shallow penetrating loads to produce larger pressure waves. Selection criteria should first determine the required penetration depth for the given risk assessment and application, and only use pressure wave magnitude as a selection...
Wrong. I think the Yankee Marshall must have read your posts. Some say faster pistols do in fact perform better on living bodies.
Human autopsy results have demonstrated brain hemorrhaging from fatal hits to the chest, including cases with handgun bullets.[4] Thirty-three cases of fatal...
Speed also means more hydrostatic shock according to many "experts". Some say the .357 mag is fast enough to cause it meaning it will outperform a slower bullet of the same diameter.
Why do you like the .357 sig? Frying pans and such. Same reason to like the magnum. Some also say hydrostatic shock comes into play with the .357's. The mag is also very versatile.
Your boy on performance haha....
I will most likely get one because I want a bolt gun with irons. It's also pretty compact. How much weight did you add to the accustock?

The detachable mag hog hunters are after market modifications. Factory hog hunters are internal mag only. The rational is a fixed mag could get hung up on the thick brush when chasing pigs. I would still rather have a detachable mag personally.

Not sure if that is a serious post? I won't carry a light bearing holster anymore. Unless it's on my shield with my TRL6. That's a simply rugged rig that works great.
It's also a hassle having it on at home now. I have a couple of these in the house and another like it in the bedroom.

It was not the unloaded gun that got them killed. It was pulling it on multiple armed robbers. Tragic and stupid. There is a time to comply and that was it. Tough to get the drop on two even with a loaded gun.

Mine did cover the trigger guard 100% there was just a gap wide enough for a finger (or other things) to get into. I don't have any clue what kind of holster someone else has. That's why I don't like looking at a loaded gun in a shoulder rig. It could be a $20 POS for all I know. My trust in...

This is why I returned that light bearing holster I had. I carry with one in the chamber and I could easily pull the trigger of my m&P when using it. Not all holsters are...
I don't need a damn thing Will. Thanks though. 9mm's such ass and no one has ever used a frying pan for cover. All kidding aside where in the safety rules does it say always keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction (unless it's holstered)? I carry a mans gun (with a hammer) so I'm good and...
I never thought about it either. Then he mentioned it. To be honest I never liked horizontal shoulder holsters much because they sweep people all the time. Cops have had them on in front of me in line and it makes me uneasy. I don't like a any gun pointed at my vitals (holstered or not). I won't...
How old are they and have you muzzle swept them when they were in he terrible 2's (if they are that old)? There is no possible way to avoid muzzle sweeping a running toddler that's under 3 feet tall if you carry in a belt holster. That's why I don't carry at home anymore.

Maybe I didn't make it clear. My
Friend is concerned with muzzle sweeping his toddler with a holstered gun. I have read that some think that's no big deal on other forums. I disagree. Young kids run all over and they are short enough that they will be muzzle swept in bad places if you carry...
With your decades of practical experience and being so concerned about safety (as we all should be) how would an expert like yourself carry safely with a toddler running around all over? Do share.

If you read what I posted earlier you would have your answer. I can only speak for myself. Do you carry in a Jordan holster? It gives a speed advantage.

I will be sure to let my buddy know he's an asshole for not wanting to constantly muzzle sweep his toddler with a round in the chamber. Bill Jordan have many gunfights with his revolvers?

Saying a gun without one in the pipe is like a brick is laughable. How many bricks can shoot a bullet in a second or so? There are many instances when one would have time to chamber a round and meet a threat. There are also times when it might not be possible. It's all personal preference. I...
You will love it. I tired to switch to lighter striker fired guns but ended up back with my sigs again. This is my current edc. I'm looking at a 226 or 229 in the near future also. I'm going 100 percent hammer fired for my handguns.

If you want to kill some time this page has great info. It's interactive, you can click the ammo and see videos and pictures. Some of these could kill frying pans easily.

Vance also mentioned slain NYPD Detective Randolph Holder, who was killed in 2015 with a handgun brought to the city from the South.
Disgusting to use a death to promote his insane agenda. I'm guessing that Detective was not killed by a legally armed person who just snapped.
