But I got a good deal on this 870 police trade in. It's a 2009 and looks to have been in a cruiser rack and shot very little. I really like the xs sights on it. Looking forward to some shotgunning at the range soon.

I used to carry a .22 when I was a kid to the woods range. My friend did the same. We both had rifles. Never got a second look and I'm in my 30's so it was not that long ago.
I don't support what these guys did and would not do it myself. That being said I don't support random traffic stops without cause.
EDIT:
Here is the initial stop. Real nice guys.... but still no reason to stop someone for wearing a ski mask when it's cold outside.
I think this is the clown...
And if they were stopped just to search for legally owned guns the leo's involved should be fired.
"The on-duty sergeant conducted a traffic stop to investigate, but did not find any guns and released the men. Disgruntled, the men drove to the Dearborn police station to confront officers."

In the past I would just throw on some weaver plain old rings. This was
On my hunting rifles. I need some advice on rings for my 10 fcp. It has a 20 moa base and I will be using a 50mm scope. I want to stay under $100. The rifle was only $475. The stickers are off now by the way.

It looks like the normal flex stock with a pistol grip only and a m4 style stock. Throw on a breaching barrel and that's about it I think.
They sell all of those things separate.

I know it's not the Ruger, I want a takedown like that Ruger though! Free state of mind...
Standardized ammo is a bigger deal in NY than most other places since we can't legally have a loaded mag and a rifle in the truck. One could drop the mag from the pistol and use the carbine if needed I guess.
If someone has used a shotgun since they were a kid it might be the best option for them. If you hunker down and call 911 a pump or reliable semi-auto 12 (20 might be better) is a pretty good choice. A load of buck is a pretty good fight stopper.
Looks like a gimmick and fragile. If it can take a beating then sure. I had a sub 2000 because it was small and took my glock mags. Mine was a total POS (but that looks more well built) He also broke the law by shouldering that pistol (if no tax stamp)! JK (I think I'm kidding not sure on those...
Self-defense is usually much less than 50 yards. Both will kill however one might end bad intentions sooner. I don't think any 9mm can match a 5.56 at any distance. As for the noise... I'm willing to deal with it assuming it stops the fight sooner. Why don't swat guys use 9mm carbines for the...
The vast majority still can't compete with a rifle for serious work. For a range gun and cheap practice they are great. In any other case why carry around something the same size as a m-4 that can't compete with a rifle cartridge? The .357 magnum really shines from a longer tube but I have yes...
I never heard of a .40 s&w rifle. I have heard them referred to as carbines though. Even the name has carbine in it. Terrible choice but better than what the NYPD authorizes for most officers I guess (if they are even durable enough).
It's a fine light duty shotgun system (the flex). I would not recommend for military use. The 500 is plenty rugged but the flex lock system is not. I have one and they get loose. It's an easy enough fix (pound it with a rubber mallet to tighten the bracket). Not a great move in my opinion.
The information on wong is incorrect. Didn't matter though. SWAT staged and waited and waited and waited some more. When he killed himself they finally went in. It was a load bearing vest.
I believe the .40 gains about the least amount of velocity out of longer tubes than any modern service cartridge. What a stupid decision. Stick with the shotgun.
Also that guy has the most 90's haircut ever.
Ready to go to the garbage can.... JK! But I will pass on a heat shield, a pistol grip stock (even more so with the safety you can't reach with it on a Mossberg) and most anything ATI. Not a fan of their stuff. Also less capacity.
Are you counting right? When they say it's a 9 shot they mean 8+1. The new 7 shot it 6+1. Mossberg never says "+1" when they list capacity on shotguns for some reason. You should not be able to fit 9 2 3/4 shells in.
" This model (51663) features a 20 inch barrel, 9 shot capacity ( 8 + 1), and...
