I was going to go with that once I started getting ready to buy a savage. But no time to reload at the present and can't get ammo shipped from most places so .308 it is!
If I had more time to reload (having a baby and a wife in grad school/working full time takes it all) I would have liked a .260 or 7mm-08 build. Maybe a 6.5 creedmoor. Maybe in a few years! I went with the Savage 10 in .308. I will just have to buy ammo for the time being.
The -06 also won ww1...
Will also said it. More efficient yes. More versatile no (in my opinion). The 7.62x51 replaced the '06 for a few reasons. More compact rifles, less brass and powder used, less weight ect. None of that really matters to the average hunter. More energy, faster, ability to handle heavier...
Why are people saying the .308 is more versatile? What makes is more versatile? If anything I would give the '06 the slight nod in that dept. It's faster and can handle heavier bullets than the .308. They are very similar though. If you already have one no need to change to another. That being...
Always has been. But it's gotten worse and worse sadly. I'm not used to hearing translators needed for victims and witnesses in Binghamton. Must be new people in the area.
It will be used to save the word from terrorists at world record distances. I'm going to grow my beard out and look "tactical" so I need every feature I will never use. HA I'm going to be punching paper at 300 meters and less most of the time. I have access to an 850 yard range but that will be...
Damn it. Why did I drunk online rifle shop. This is going to cost me! I just bought a new pelican knock off case! Gander has some good sales going on by the way. Since they are going bankrupt and all.
That's how it starts.... I give a budget for myself and see something that's "only a couple of hundred more". Next thing you know I doubled the budget. Buy once cry once I guess haha.
I could not pass on the Savage savage 10 fcp-sr deal. The rebate sealed the deal. I want to get glass in the 4-12 or 4-16 range. I'm leaning towards this Vortex...
It would be kind of hypocritical to. A true conservative is for the free market. Unions and free market go together like oil and water. Public sector unions especially. But being a "true conservative" does not really pay the bills.
Seeking legal representation and being pro or against unions are not related. Who do unions donate to? Are the progressive loons pro union or against? Conservatives are against unions.
Police and fire depts are examples of socialism that most at ok with. We all pay and few use them. If I could opt out of police protection and pay less in taxes I would.

Does a union made frying pan stop a bullet better than a non-union made one? That's the real question.
All kidding aside it is funny to see how many so called conservatives turn into insane progressives when their union is discussed. It's usually cops and firemen.
The Henry long ranger would be ideal for the op. It can be had with iron sights. It's made in American (not like the browning blr). It's new but initial reviews are promising.

I was surprised to see how much the Savage 10 in this thread weighs. The OP made the right choice for sure (hunting and range use). I'm still toying with picking up the savage and not hunting with it. .308 or 6.5 creedmoor. Hmmm. What do you think if I already have a few 30 cal rifles and will...
I was in South Africa for work. I stayed an a additional week after the work was done and traveled around. I went on the photo "Safari" trips and spoke with some PH's. I always said I would go back one day and get a buff and some plains game. Then I bought an engagement ring. Then I paid for...
You can hunt anything with the .338 laupa in some African countries. Most still have the 9.3x62 or .375 bore restrictions but some are making changes. I think it's a bad idea (the energy vs bore restrictions) but that's my opinion. I think the .375 is light for the big guys. Africa is an amazing...
