    Hochul coming to Buffalo Saturday.

Wow! I spent about 35 years paying dues, whether or not I belonged to the union or not. It was NOT worth it.

need help for mental health letter

Is English your first language? Or is this a fabrication? Please excuse my cynacism. I belive the only reason you would need a letter from a doc is if you have had mental health issues that are are no longer deemed an issue. Is this correct?

Hochul will make a "gun safety" announcement today

Had a customer that had offspring is a newly graduated trooper. At the graduation, Hochul spoke about HER. Very little applause. I was at a graduation where Pataki spoke. LOTS of real appaluse. As head of NY she (Hochul) can put pressure on having the Red Flag take precedence. I am guessing...

Temporary Restaining Order Issued For Concealed Carry Improvement Act (merged thread)

That is something else I have said, NYS may be worse than the IRS. It is not a case of innocent until proven guilty, it is GUILTY, PROVE you are not. I have had way too many conversations with CPA's thru the years to not believe that way. If you read that law that is coming in Dec. you will...

Temporary Restaining Order Issued For Concealed Carry Improvement Act (merged thread)

Cameras are to come from an "approved" list NY puts out. Internet based as they need to be remotely monitored. We have our own, hardwired cameras. I do not want someone watching me 24/7 or have the things hackable. Talk about being set up. And at what $$$$$$$. Oh, and there is supposed to be one...

Bolt action 22 is a semi-auto rifle in NY?

Ok, FFL here, I make no pretensions of knowing all makes and models A quick Google search tells me action on a long gun. That is the easy part. Now some of them being made compliant is another topic.......

The other non-Bruen NY gun case you should know about: NSSF et al v James

I was so glad to see that lawsuit. That NY law keeps me awake at night. There is another that is proposed to make it easier to sue gun stores, distributors, etc., civilly.

Dunno know if I have any faith in CNN. I love the wording GOA used in the rebuttal, "Thumbing their nose at the SC".

Syracuse chip manufacturer's real cost to taxpayers

Glad I am not the only one that is cynical....look at the Destiny Mall. Touted as a draw for the whole country. Yeah, for crime. Congel got huge tax breaks.

I am taking down my sign, (not yet) that it is OK to carry in the shop. I think this is a step in the right direction, I have to say I was wrong. GLAD to say it! I have to wonder if the state appeals, what that means.

The left will stop at nothing. Dr Oz killed animals for medical research

I don't think there is the testing now that was REQUIRED for years for deodorant, shampoo, cosmetics, etc. Rabbits were used as they do not have tear ducts. The product was applied to the eyes to document how long it took to ulcerate. Poor rabbits were confined so they did not scratch their eyes...

RBean, care to postulate on the other ten horrible laws? Also, do you practice in NY? It is tough to find a lawyer that has any concept of the gun laws. At least that is what I have found.

No sales of reloading projectiles to NY?

Would you belive The Dept of Labor oversees the powder? I was visited by their rep. An FFL has to store the powder, no more than 50#, in an approved, locked, red container with an "Explosive" label, keep a log of who buys it and some other messed up crap. Completely different for a store vs...

No sales of reloading projectiles to NY?

One of the problems with big box stores, usually cannot trip over themselves fast enough to go beyond infringing on rights. Need to be 18 to purchase, nah WalMart says 21. Yet people keep buying there. I can find no mention of reloading bullets. We already have regs on powder in NY.

Not moody, realistic. I have lived in this state my whole life. I have heard for how many years about how the SAFE Act will be overturned. Every time I sell an AR I think, yeah, SAFE ACT. Like I said, I hope I am wrong...........(Swap out the thirty round mag with a ten, pin that mag. Cannot...

2A Lawsuits and their progress we have here in NY

I am going to say this, he knew this was coming. If he really belives this is a bad law, I would have thought his written part would have been ready to go. Kind of like Hochul expected the SCOTUS decision and had a response set to go. I hope I am wrong this time. I will take my bad attitude...

Judge is stalling, not giving a decision. Excuse my attitude, I am not surprised. And this is on a TRO, not Injuunction. If he truly believed the law was unconstitutional, a complete Injunction should have been given. I would love to be wrong on this one but I think I called it earlier and it...

    I as a reenactor, I am a potential felon!

As I said earlier, at an event like a reanactment, insurance is a consideration. If you run on 81 when it is closed your insurance company won't pay if there is a claim. You were doing something illegal at the time. I have to think it would be the same at an historical event, if particiapting in...

‘Staggering’ fraud: NY AG Letitia James sues Donald Trump, kids and company

2A Lawsuits and their progress we have here in NY

I skimmed it.It looks to me like it is specific yet mentions the WHOLE CCIA. My questions, there is a blurb in the CCIA that basically states that if part of it is struck down, the reaminder stays, not sure that is legal. This CCIA is built and expands on the "laws" passed in June. If an...

PSA Not Selling to NY Anymore?

    I as a reenactor, I am a potential felon!

The bs about rifles including flintlocks is in one of the new laws. The state has theses events over a barrel, insurance won't cover illegal activities.

Damn Forgot about FULL Middle Named on Documents for FFL Pick up

I do not get that. The NICS form states, "If legal name contains an initial only, record the initial followed by "IO" in quotes." Maybe I am wrong but I have been understanding that as allowing a middle initial.

I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly. I will try to pull and quote the camera part. It was in some of the crap passed in June. There is lots more in that bill. I don't see an answer as to whom will have access to the cameras and then the storage. I can see the ATF, tax compliance, the...

This is comical, Hochul says ammunition background checks will reduce firearm homicides by 22%

Thanks! Btw, I am a girl. The bs is so deep and the fact is, if we stay in business we will be one of the contributors to the illegal register, or as listed in the law, database. The answer to that is the cameras that are to be installed. They are to be from an "approved" company, centrally...

If I am reading S51001, I will be making a "request" for a background check. Whoever the state has hired at that point, will do a NICS check at my request for a backgound check. I cannot imagine the layer of F*** ups that will be. The people hired to do this will not be SP, imho. If my...

    Ammo sale restriction

According to S51001 background checks are to be done as of April 2023, if I am reading and understanding correctly. The logging of ammo sales like in the OP listed is to have started as of Sept. 1, 2022. I called Albany and got that info. The semi auto long gun sales crap goes into effect 9/4.
