The SSCI has now framed the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 [LINK] to modify the “responsibilities and authorities of the Director of National Intelligence.” [Section 402]
We knew this was coming. The Intelligence Community does not like rogue actors amid their ranks, especially if those people have cross-silo access. The silo system is designed to protect the Deep State. Any entity who can cross reference the inserted information becomes a risk to the enterprise.
Senator Cotton cannot directly oppose Tulsi Gabbard without exposing himself. Thus someone, not the SSCI, writes the legislative changes to the Intelligence Community rules and procedures and Tom Cotton simply advances them. That’s the way DC operates.

My understanding is that statue of limitations has run out but conspiracy to cover up a crime doesn't. It's not treasonous but anyone with knowledge of the cover up or took part in the act could be charged with conspiracy to cover up the crime. Reading the release, the DOJ appears to have a slam dunk sitting in their laps. So many testified before congress and lied that this could be a take down of a political party. We will have to sit and wait to see how the DOJ handles it.

Not sure that would happen and frankly with a single party system absolute power corrupts absolutely. I'm fine with two parties even if I disagree vehemently with one as long as they are both relatively sane - problem is they are not.

Agreed. I posted previously that there will be risk assessments to determine the path forward - at least there should be. The unrest that follows would factor into that.
